After two amazing weeks in Europe, I officially have internet again. I thought I would have enough to check tumblr, but no such luck. It didn’t like loading such a big app. So, I’ve had serious tumblr withdrawals.

Over the last month or so, ITBT has been working tirelessly to come up with new ways to keep things exciting and to keep building our members as writers. After a while, it was decided that having bios would open opportunities for new plots and new interactions. Then the work began. There are approximately eighty bios to be posted! Over twenty of them are taken, leaving these open characters with plenty of new interaction opportunities and connection opportunities. 

The plan is to release approximately ten or so each day until all are completed. Many of our members have chosen to write their own bios, which will be made available as they are completed. 

The biographies will now serve as guidelines for these characters. Faceclaims have been chosen based on personality and ethnicity, but are still subject to change if a new face is agreed upon! As bios are posted (and I get home from work/rehearsal each time), I will update the character page with links to those characters. 

It will be a gradual process, so please bear with me! I’ve even had to put myself on hiatus for a few days while I focus on all of this. 

Thank you to everyone who has been offering help! Please feel free to send in which bios you want to see the most tomorrow and I shall do my best. Most are finished, but a few are still being tweaked and waiting on taken connections to be completed. - Admin R

As we know, today is Meme Monday. Personally, I’ve never been good at keeping up with the memes. Mondays are my busiest days and, as such, I have a hard time being on to reblog when I know my replies need to come first. 

Here is the thing, I have been noticing a trend as of late where people are reblogging the meme and then not sending out any themselves. If you reblog a meme, you must send three asks. That’s at minimum. If you’re the first person to reblog it, that can make things difficult. I know. However, if you have time to get on and reply to the ones send to you, you have time to get on and send them to other people. 

If I notice this trend continuing, I will shut down meme Monday and only occasionally posts memes from the main where I can make sure people are getting asks because it will be on days I know I can send them. 

                        EVENT 03 - NO BODY TO GO WITH!

23 October 1976 - Great Hall - 8pm

Dinner had just ended when the first owl arrived. At first, no one even blinked. It was hardly unusual for the evening post to come by. However, when ten more owls, then thirty more owls, then fifty more owls came flying in, people started noticing. All of the letters were of the same orange and black color scheme. The writing was the same in each envelope and there was one for each student. Headmaster Dumbledore stood grinning, obviously enjoying the commotion he caused.

Dear Hogwarts Student,     You are cordially invited to the Halloween Dance on the evening of the twenty-eighth day of the tenth month starting at eight in the evening and ending at the witching hour. Attendance is not mandatory, but those who do not participate are to be in their dorms by eight in the evening. Costumes, however, are mandatory. There will be a best couples costume prize at the end of the night, the winners receiving two homework passes each to be used in any class, any assignment, at any time in the year. A solo costume winner will be chosen also, but will only receive one homework pass to be used in the month of November.

23 October 1976 - Great Hall - 10pm

Back in their dorms, students wondered how they were going to find dates on such short notice. In addition to that, get a costume. After the letter, Dumbledore announced that students, with permission, would be allowed to go to Hogsmeade to go shopping after classes. Professors agreed to monitor the path to keep students safe. Now, everyone just has to keep their heads straight until the 28th.

We made it to twenty-two characters! That officially means that the dance is now a date dance! However, I am completely aware that not every character will get a date and not every character wants a date. Therefore, you’re totally allowed to go without one. However, the homework passes are there to give characters who might not want dates reasons to get one. Also, Dumbledore did not specify what qualifies as a date. It can’t be three people going as dates, but who said Marlene and Lily can’t go together as BFF dates? Certainly no one here.

As your characters get dates (even if you haven’t fully roleplayed it out), you are welcome to submit them and I will add it below! 

When you find a costume, tag it as “thornscostume” so that it can easily be found! Make sure you either put both the costumes or tag the other person if it is a couple’s costume so it can be judged accordingly! All costumes must be posted by September 17th to be counted in the contest.

The dance will begin at 12:00am CST on September 16th. Starters for the event may be posted from then until 11:59pm CST on September 17th. Tag them with both thornsstarter and thornshalloweenstarter. Yes, it’s long. BUT, it will help everyone to understand. You can queue your starter if you won’t be on during those two days. Not a big deal. Just don’t start any new threads or reply to any of the starters after September 17th!
