Idk I can imagine a world where they meet and immediately hit it off with their whole "fighting is great, a battle is a battle so it doesn't matter who you're fighting, you have to do it seriously and never get mad about what happened once it's over" mentality

I can imagine Askeladd being annoyed when he sees his second in command laughing alongside Thorkell while they encourage each other to do unwise stuff. I can see Asgeir having a headache just watching them because he can already picture the mess he'll have to clean up after
