Sum 41 premiered a new single titled “Out for Blood” on Sirius Xm radio earlier today around noon.

Right as the song was about to go live the DJ mentioned how Sum 41 are aiming to release their new album currently titled “Order in Decline” this upcoming summer on July 19th. So right after this current “No Personal Space” club tour expect to hear new music, possibly even teasing the new songs while on the road.

For the most part “Out for Blood” is reminiscent of 2013′s 13 Voices sound. It is definitely more heavier than their more punkish catalogue. But it’s not unwelcomed, current skumfuk reactions are mainly positive.

A steady drum beat drives the song along with heavy guitars and Deryck’s vocals are as clear and crisp as ever.

The guitar solo is absolutely insane. When hearing this song live expect not only tons of moshing, but even during the bridge leaves a perfect opportunity for a wall of death. Be prepared

Personally the only gripe I have with this song is it’s chorus, to me it sounds like almost every other chorus to all their other heavy songs. Very constant and fast drum rhythms and guitar shredding. But if that’s what you love about Sum 41′s sound then you’ll love this new single.

*IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!!*

Fellow followers  and readers, I have some big news.. I was at work today (Zumiez) when a friend of mine, who is still in high school. came in. We started chit chatting it up, talking about life and such. His name is Spencer, and he happens to work at one of our local radio stations part time. The other day he was hanging out with Hollerado (kick ass Canadian band if you haven't listened to them yet!), doing interviews and PR stuff. They were walking him back to school after they finished all of the PR stuff, and Spencer was entitled to some new information. 

The band are good friends with Sum 41, after touring across Canada in the spring. They were texting back n' forth with the guys from Sum 41 (Deryck specifically), and some new news leaked. Apparently, Sum 41 is very close to breaking up and/or taking a long term hiatus (i.e. like Blink 182's 4/5 year break). They were telling him that after Stevo decided to leave the band, Deryck Whibley, Cone McCaslin, and Thomas Thacker, have been questioning the motivation to actually go on and continue..

This could be good news for some, or bad news for some.. Spencer also told me that the idea/thinking of taking a 1-2 year break, and try and see if they could possibly all come back more motivated, and eager to perform and write music in Sum 41.

I was absolutely shocked when I heard this. That is why I am blogging it right now, right after work… Please share this with any other fans of the band. This is the most recent news that has come out of Sum 41.. I'm gonna try to keep up to check with any new news that arises within the next week.
