Tw: depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts/attempts, self harm, panic attacks etc

Thomas

- This man has some extreme survivors guilt from everything.

- He gets flashbacks, especially in dreams, of him working with WICKED, helping them build the maze and having to watch his friends through the beetle blades.

- He feels responsible for everything his friends went through in the glade and for not trying harder to help them (even though the others have continuously told him that they don’t blame him and it wasn’t his fault).

- Even through the scorch, he feels guilty for not doing more to help because if he had only acted faster, they might not be there at all.

- He sometimes has panic attacks because of this and on the worst days he wishes he could have died instead of his friends because he feels like their deaths were his fault.

- Occasionally he turns to self harm, believing that he deserved to feel the pain he put his friends to.

- Newt found him once with the knife in his hand and immediately stopped him, cleaning the cuts and making Thomas promise never to do it again because nothing was his fault and he doesn’t deserve to feel pain.

- Newt then makes it a regular occurrence to draw little butterflies on Thomas’s wrist and arms (iykyk)

- Newt got really worried the first time Thomas had a panic attack in front of him because he didn’t really know what to do to help but he slowly figured out little ways to calm him down.

- Taking him to a quiet, familiar place, helping him breathe, making him tea and cuddling up with a blanket and a movie on in the background

Newt

- I think I already covered this in another post but being sick is a huge trigger for Newt. He gets super edgy and Thomas can tell. He continuously checks his arms just in case the veins are black

- I’m convinced he’s got Emetophobia (fear of throwing up) because it triggers memories of when he had the flare and he felt nauseous all the time.

- His immune system is weaker than everyone else’s so he gets sick a lot more often than the others and even a simple cold would have him shivering in bed all day with tea and five blankets

- Newt also doesn’t like to acknowledge the fact that he’s sick because he doesn’t want people fussing over him and asking him if he’s okay so he will just say ‘I’m fine’ as he’s actively throwing up.

- He usually distances himself whenever he’s ill because he’s scared that he’s not cured and is going to snap and hurt someone but Thomas isn’t having it.

- Thomas will wrap him up in a blanket and hug him until Newt stops struggling to get away and melts into a little shivery puddle in Thomas’s arms

- Once he’s finally accepted that he is ill, Newt becomes very very clingy towards Thomas and stays in bed all day with tea and a hot water bottle

- I also think Newt and Brenda would be really good friends in the safe haven because they’ve both had the flare before (obviously Brenda was cured relatively quickly but still) so they can relate to each other and Newt sometimes feels like Brenda’s the only one who really knows what he went through, so he talks to her about it when he doesn’t want to go vent to Thomas or Minho

- He has a lot of nightmares from when he was a crank, often dreaming that he had died or else had cracked and hurt someone and more than once has woken up screaming with tears in his eyes and blood in his mouth because he bit his tongue so hard.

- His broken leg gets better over time but it never fully heals. Jorge told him that he should really be using a cane or a crutch but Newt done right refuses either because he hates people making a fuss over it and he will still work even if the pain is so bad he literally has to hop around (Thomas isn’t having this either and drags Newt to bed and massages his leg for him)

- Newt still had suicidal thoughts. They aren’t as strong as they were in the glade and he doesn’t seriously consider trying anything but it’s always in the back of him mind. Thomas is the one who gets him his little safety pin necklace because he knows it’s something Newt struggles with ( and yes Newt did cry when Thomas gave it to him. Tell me I’m wrong)

Long Live (Thomas' Version)

Thomas could feel the heat from the bonfire - the flames wild and vivacious, licking at the skin of his cheeks as he sat among new and familiar faces. The Safe Haven was a lot of things, but it stood mostly as a reminder to Thomas about all he had gained and lost since he first stepped foot in the Glade. He glanced around as he took in the smiles and laughter of his friends, watching as they recalled tall tales before they settled into their somewhat contentment. It was a far cry from days ago when he awoke to crashing waves and a bullet wound in his torso, bittersweet cheers and thanks were delivered his way for taking down all that was WICKED.

He could feel your hands weave around his arm before you settled comfortably into his side, breaking the boy from his continuous run of thoughts. You both had talked about this moment only a few months ago in the Scorch when finding the Safe Haven was an unbelievable construct - an impossible reach, a story told purely for reassurance rather than reality. But sitting here now proved it all wrong, in the most settling way possible. Thomas always promised that he would take down the evil in this world, and he did, with the help of his newfound family. It was endless torture from the moment his feet were swallowed in the sand of the Scorch - the constant running for your lives, fighting for survival, grieving for lost friends one by one. It was as if the ambivalence weaved through his mind and soul as he began searching for the faces that were no longer with you, among those of your friends. You always asked if he was okay, and he would always answer yes - after wishing for this safety for so long, Thomas had no other reason not to be.

It was simple in the Glade. Everybody and everything had their place, routine dictated each day, the sun would rise and it would set within clear expectations. It was a safety net for the time being and a place that, to an extent, advertised calmness. And yet, Thomas found the open wilderness of the Scorch to be unpredictable and somewhat exciting. It was where you all were tested exponentially and brought closer together. Danger creeping around every bend to counteract the hope for freedom. The search for Minho followed, and the other taken survivors - a turbulent spanner thrown into Thomas' plans. They were all filled with bad memories. And Thomas nearly gave up. Nearly. The camaraderie between lost teenagers gave him the good memories, however. Banding together to rule the world, a saving grace to soften the harshness that they each endured. It's what brought him closer to you than just cuddling into his arm - the lightness of pure love cracking through the cage that WICKED built to keep you all down. It was the friends that he made along the way - how each encounter resulted in a lifelong friendship and sense of family. It was the unforgotten memories of the people who were left behind - their deaths never in vain, but carved in stone as a reminder of who you all continued to live for.

Thomas found himself staring at the names often; inscribed on a large stone that stood proud and tall in the centre of camp. The flickers of the flames danced along his back now as his dark henley shirt absorbed the heat. He could still hear the laughter and chatter but it fell to softened white noise the more he stared at the carvings before him, and even more so as memories flooded back in with each name his finger dragged lazily across. His eyes burned from ash and a clenching chest - blinked away as you made your way to his side again. It was instant as his fingers entangled with yours before he brought joined hands to his lips, chapped skin pressing gently to your knuckles. And soon, his other side was occupied by Minho as his large hand clasped Thomas' shoulder, squeezing with reassurance. The light of the fire was blocked by Gally's tall frame next, followed by Brenda's arm over your shoulder and Aris' frame to the side. You all stood in silence, but eyes were focused in the same direction. Remembering the faces of the names; the memories.

Thomas had lost a lot, including a part of himself along the journey to rightful freedom. And it would continue to eat at him for days, months, years after it was all over. But he also gained a lot, too. His surroundings were composed of a new community - a new society that had the bones to flourish, with new members joining as they were saved from a burning world. It was composed of a new lifestyle - building something to be proud of, an opportunity to continue using heart and strength for good. It was also composed of people that had embedded themselves to utterly deep in his life that there was no possible way he could be without them ever again. And long live them all.

Cause I also ascribe to the hc of Tommy enjoying the sound of reader's voice reading or singing to him. And since he's mute, it'd be so great for him to be able to communicate back through writing.

Y/n Spoiling Their Slasher

Ooh funn! Sometimes these poor bois need extra love 🥺💞

Thomas:

- He would be a flustered baby from the beginning🥺

- He would feel bad that you’re doing this stuff for him and would feel a bit awkward since he’s so used to being the provider, that he wouldn’t really know how to act 🌼

- He clings to you for guidance, because being so relaxed and spoiled like this feels like a crime to him. And that breaks my heart.

- You end up being the mother hen, coaxing him and cooing at him as he looks up at you as if you're an angel. He'll lower himself into the bath and hold onto your hand, falling into a pit of pure love for you. You are literally his angel and you are GLOWING in his eyes💕

- when you give him a special dinner, he eats it happily and offers to share almost everything with you. It's like he's mostly concerned with what's on your plate instead of his, glancing over and making sure you're enjoying yourself. He can't help it though, it's completely second nature to him 💫💖

He is still hesitant to let himself be comfortable because he has literally never had anything like this ever in his life. He still looks to you for guidance and you tell him that you won't make him do anything he's not comfortable with.

- You both end the night with him clinging to you, buried his face in your stomach with his arms wrapped around your hips. He repeats in his mind that he doesn't deserve an angel like you until he falls asleep, dreaming about you. This boy is lovesick. 💕

Jason

- Jason would just full on melt. He already knew how kind and loving you could be, and honestly isn't too surprised that you would do this. He nevertheless of course, puts his masked-face on your temple in the form of a kiss, and strokes your ear as a thank you💗

- Big boy doesn't waste a minute, he's stripped and ready to dive in. He definitely did NOT expect you to come over there and help him wash. Unsurprisingly he got bashful and looked away as you lovingly scratched his shoulders and unknotted his huge biceps and neck. He ends up going slack in the tub from how good it feels. 😊

- His eyes don't leave you most of the time. He looks away bashfully when you glance at him or smile at him, and his heart is just a fluttery mess at you. When you courteously look away when he steps out of the bath, you direct him to a big meal you made <3

- He has no idea where to start he is a trainwreck at just eating a mf meal. You smile encouragingly at him as he delicately uses his fork (which looks like a toothpick in his hands) and eats like he's at the queen's reception ceremony. He is SO polite. Uses a napkin and everything.

- I canon that he was ALWAYS hungry pre-zombie phase, and could literally eat 5 horses in one sitting (a weird visual but--) he signs to you asking what you were going to eat, and will literally fight with you about you taking his plate if you haven't eaten yet. 💖😤

Michael

- this bitch. you already know bae.

- He would refuse the bath because he finds it weird that he would bathe in a bath you made him (im confused too dw) He will stand there, his 7 ft tall ass, shaking his head at you no.

- you somehow end up getting in the bath with him because that was the only chance he would take the bath-- with you literally stuck to him as he drags you around like a pool noodle 🥲

- he might initiate funky time but probably not. he just wants to be clean tbh. He spends the entire bath time smelling your hair as he doesn't allow you to move for a good 10 minutes. He strokes your neck though which is nice 💖

- after you guys both leave the bath, he is still carrying you like a purse, but lets you at least put on a towel so you're not sitting naked at the dinner table.

- He's really touchy tonight, and it's mostly because he's filled to the rim with love for you. 💗He expresses it with roughhousing though and handling you like a ragdoll. He does NOT mean to hurt you though and will be gentle if you tell him to cut it out.

- He eats absolutely everything on his plate gratefully, again, doesn't express it in the most civil way, but he appreciates it (surprisingly). He actually might eat from your plate, you can't tell me this 7 ft giant doesn't run on five rotisserie chickens a day.

Bo Sinclair

- I literally didn't even want to write for this dude. He is an asshole. But he's a hot asshole with daddy vibes so here we are 😤💗

- I would never expect Bo to worship you in return for you doing this for him. There are some things he will boast and tease you about being a swoon for him, being obsessed over him and whatnot~~~ But stuff like this is a little too much for that. It almost touches him. Almost💘

- He initially just doesn't know what to say. He loves you, that’s obvious. So he doesn't want to hurt your feelings by saying the wrong thing (which he does ALL THE TIME) so he's going to be uncharacteristically non hyper-verbal

- When you tell him you have a bath running for him upstairs, he'll think you're joking at first. When it becomes obvious that you're not, you lead him to it, and he looks at you when you're not looking and there's a slight of affection in them🌼

- He offers to share the bath with you, with a glint in his eye and that velvety smooth tone of his. This makes you blush furiously and become shy, which eggs him on. It’s completely up to you though, heh, because this will in fact lead to the sex

- afterwards he may drag you over to the bed to sleep~~~ until you tell him you have dinner waiting for him, and he is a fucking s l u t for food after funky time ✨

- now here he definitely teases you. “you’re practically worshipping me, doll. how am I supposed to treat you now?” What we’re you expecting? but internally he’s bursting at the seams and he’s very touched. 💖Probably to the point where he’s uncomfortable and will either be very quiet (he has no idea what to say) or he’ll tease the shit out of you as a coping mechanism.

- he eats like a normal person unlike everyone else here (and maybe Vincent) going on about his day where you listen patiently with a smile on your face ☺️

- Then when in bed, with his back facing you, he’ll very quietly thank you for doing this for him, because Lord knows he needed it. He’s very thankful 💖

Vincent Sinclair

- all signs of responsiveness is cut. I mean, he’s the tiniest bit of smug if I’m raw honest. He was the golden child out of the two when he was younger and even if Bo is top dog in Ambrose, the feeling of deserving more than he does is still there. Which he DOES 😭💖

- He’s in absolutely no way like Bo. Bo is a smug ass who doesn’t listen to anyone (who we stan btw), but he’s still touched to the core.💖 You didn’t need to do this, you wanted to

- he knew he was worthy of being loved. He knew Bo wasn’t going to hold him down forever. he’s felt he needed this for the longest time. He wants to beat Bo; ~~~

- and when the prettiest, sweetest angel is at his feet pampering him, he just knows how jealous Bo is. 💘😭 Anyway SORRY I’m rambling~~ I feel like Vinny would be too scared to go into the bath himself and would have you sit on a stool beside him.

You get along with Thomas very easily- the guy seems to make friends with everybody he meets (except Gally, of course)

After a while, though, you earn the ‘best friend’ title after saving him from getting stuck with the Builders

Although the two of you are kind of different, you get along because you’re both kind of introverts

Thomas is definitely glad to be able to be quiet around you, and not have to maintain the constant chatter as he does with the others

You also like that he doesn’t mind you not wanting to be that loud

Another thing you like about Thomas are his hugs

The first one happened kind of by accident, when he made it out of the Maze after spending the night inside, and he gave you a celebratory hug when he saw you

Ever since then, you’ve noticed that his hugs are actually really nice

For those few moments, it’s like you can block out the world around you and just concentrate on your friend

And, in a place like the Maze, quiet moments like those seem to be worth a fortune

The only problem is that you don’t really know how to ask for them without being awkward

However, you’ve spent enough time with Thomas as your friend that he can kind of read your mind without you having to say a word about it

It was the same sort of thing when you first told him you were gn- he just got it

Thomas is a little awkward about the hugs too, at least at first, but after that hugs just become a part of the daily routine

Casual one arm hugs at meals, full body hugs when both of you try as hard to out-squeeze the other person, leaving both of you out of breath, all of them

He never makes you feel needy or weird, it’s just part of being friends

In truth, Thomas is probably just as grateful for the hugs as you are

It reminds him that he’s human, and in the Glade, that’s everything

If Thomas knew you loved getting hugs from him, he would give you them all the time. ALL THE TIME! Whenever he is free during the day or night, he would give you a hug

He gives really soft, sweet and heartwarming hugs.

He doesn't mind giving you loads of affection because he loves giving it to you

Everyone was sitting around the bonfire, upbeat and happy. You however weren’t as happy, you missed Thomas’ hugs. He had been gone all day and you needed some sign of affection from him.

Thomas looked over into your direction and noticed you weren’t as happy as you usually were, he already knew why. He regrets not giving you affection earlier, he was just busy. He knew how to fix it though.

He walked over to you, held your hand, and pulled you up to stand. His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you into a tight hug.

The hug was warm, comforting, loving.

“I like your hugs,” you mumble into his chest.

His heart filled with joy at those words. I can't believe they like my hugs!! He thinks to himself.

Frypan: how is everything in the maze?

Thomas: good! How’s Y/N?

Newt: they miss your hugs

Thomas: they are my partner, if they want hugs then I will run out of the maze and give them one. them > the maze.
