Okay soooooo the elephant in the room yes he does still groom Spottedkit in this rewrite. The way I've been doing this rewrite is with what I would want in a book series, and I do think it's important to teach children what to look out for to help prevent children from being groomed. Also, as someone who is not a victim of CSA, it felt off for me to erase a story about child grooming but that's a personal thing and I certainly don't judge people who do remove it in their rewrites/AUs
I do want to handle it very differently though. Spottedpaw ends up telling Bluestar about it and he is exiled. In a rage, he attacks a RiverClan patrol and is overpowered. The RiverClan cats are forced to kill him because he won't stop fighting.
He is not very respected in the Dark Forest. Most cats there hate pedophiles, much like how in irl prisons pedophiles are often hated by other inmates. There's also the fact that he never actually managed to to achieve anything lmao.
He and Tigerstar have a... complex relationship. He was abusive to Tiger as an apprentice, but Tigerstar both respects how Thistleclaw molded him into the ruthless warrior he became, and hates him for how small and vulnerable he made him feel. Now that Tigerstar is in charge, he takes out a lot of anger on Thistleclaw. And Tigerstar was always fond of Spottedleaf too, so that's another layer of his feelings.
