there was a boy and a girl. Two high school students who spent their freshman year playing truth or dare in the band room with a group of friends during lunch. Girl was dared to kiss boy. Little did she know that that was boy's first kiss. Little did he know that girl would fall for his best friend instead of him. He didn't care too much. He was ok with being friends. And for years that's exactly what they were. Friends. Even after girl moved to Illinois at the end of freshman year because her mom was in the military. In fact, because she had to move their friendship grew! It was beautiful! They graduated high school. Girl moved once again from Illinois to Minnesota. And along the way girl had her heart broken so many times (including by boy's best friend). She spent countless nights on the phone with boy crying over the guys who didn't treat girl like she deserved. Boy did wonderful things for girl. He called her on every birthday. He played the guitar for her over Skype. He made her laugh. He made her feel wanted. And on one fateful night girl called boy crying. Yet another guy broke girls heart and boy couldn't take it any more. He was mad at girl. How could she be so upset over people who don't see how beautiful she is. So he told her this. He told her that she needed to stop wasting the tears and the time on people who wouldn't waste the tears or time on her. Girl said "i just wants to be loved" Boy said "you are" Girl says "no guy will ever love me" Boy says "I love you" [pause: if this was a movie this would be the part where they confess their secret love and run off to live happily ever after but sorry this is real life. It doesn't work that way] Girl laughed and pretended it never happened. Weeks passed. One night they were on the phone and boy says "so you remember that thing I said to you a few weeks ago". Girl says "yeah what about it". Boy responds "I meant it. I love you." Girl thought about it and assumed he only meant as friends but she was wrong. The more she thought the more she realized that all the little things boy did for her all the way from Colorado added up to a whole lot more than what any guy has ever done for her who lived in the same town. She realized she loved him too. So after a few weeks of planning, girl flew to Colorado to see boy in person for the first time in over 5 years. When they had to leave they both realized how much they really meant to one another. Two weeks after girl went back home boy asked her out. Now this is where the story of how it started ends, but truly this is where it all begins. Boy loves girl. Kirstyn loves David.
