Villa Riviera - everyone’s favorite building in Long Beach, for good reason. Completed in 1929 by architect Richard King, it was the second tallest building in Southern California until the mid 1950’s. It survived the 1933 LB earthquake without structural damage, was bought by a film star in 1937, and its tower was used during WWII to spot enemy ships off the coast.
