Linear Narratives, Branching Narratives and Non-Linear Narrative
Linear Narratives in games follow a defined chronological path. Meaning the player progresses through the game in a straight line by following the plot points. This is different from Non-Linear Narratives since Non-Linear narratives allow the player to influence the story with dialogue options and choices. Branching Narratives allow the player to have the freedom to choose how the story progresses. Letting them change things such as conversations and interactions, then that decides the story.
