Everytime I read things like this I can't help it but to think it's alba and her crew. It's the first time ind the fandom that we get such hateful comments on a daily basis. And it's usually something so dumb like your age, weight, origins and so on. I don't even feel insulted because it's the least creative way to insult someone. It shows how dumb alba and co is cause they literally can't insult a person beyond some factual stuff like someone being Asian.... How is that an insult? I'm not Asian but if I was, who cares? How does this make me less or more? Same with age or weight or whatever they always use as an insult. I genuinely think those people are too dumb to come up with a good insult so they go for this....

But what do you expect from people who have zero creativity in their bones?

I look at it this way: think about how America changed when Trump went into office. All of a sudden, people were taught it was okay to say the quiet parts out loud.

When you give hate, be it racism, antisemitism, body shaming, misogyny, a voice, you allow people to put a face to it. A name, a mascot. In this case, we get everything we’ve found her and her friends to be.

And this is why we are upset. Because Evans once stood against every type of hate mentioned above and more, but now these people are exactly what his fan base has become. They are a representation of what she and her closest stand for and what he’s allowing to be attached to him.

Can I be honest and say when I read ‘term of endearment’ the first word that popped into my head was ‘bitch’. Go back to sleep, bitch. (This is def something my friends would say to me lovingly.)

On a more serious note, this prompt is kinda dark tones and made me really sad. Trigger warning for trauma/nightmares.

32- "Go back to sleep, (term of endearment)." Hukki

Ikki gasped and shot up, feeling her sister’s name stuck in her throat. She took a deep breath and scrubbed the tears from her eyes.

Not real. Not real. Not real.

Even years later, she still had nightmares. Reaching out for her sister’s falling, unconscious body. Sometimes she wouldn’t make it in time.

Sometimes the scenes would change, and it was Dad or Rohan, sometimes it was a man in a mask taking their bending. Sometimes it was a man taking her very breath from her lungs.

She hated these nightmares. She hated that her brain would bring up her worst memories and replay them, twisting them into something more sinister.

Ikki could clearly picture the fear in her sister’s eyes, and her heart clenched in panic. Her sister, her best friend, who she looked up to and Ikki didn’t know what she would do without her—

A sob escaped her throat and she clapped a hand over her mouth, her eyes falling to the sleeping figure next to her. But it was too late, Huan was blinking his eyes open.

“Go back to sleep, hon.” Ikki whispered, tucking his hair out of his face.

He ignored her suggestion and sat up, flicking on the lamp. “Another nightmare?”

She sighed and nodded, eagerly slipping into his offered arms. Hearing his heartbeat put some of the anxiety to rest.

Huan didn’t ask her to go back to sleep, or if she wanted to talk about it. He knew better than that by now. So instead he brought up other topics to distract her until she couldn’t see Jinora’s falling body behind her closed eyelids anymore.

They stayed up for a while, softly talking about their plans for the day, or something funny Meelo said, or who won the last pro-bending match.

He sinks into dream. It swallows him up, devours him, and it’s a crash, a wave, and the suck, deep and crushing, of ocean swells. 

A wonder comes, then: how can you survive it all, plunging and drowning in these nightmares? These visions fouling up your head?

Who knows, but each night, he survives. And each morning with the sunlight pale through the curtains, he stirs peaceful and angel-glowing. How odd. It’s like it little bothers him, all these summer-robbed dreamscapes freckling with frost because he doesn’t scream, you know, and he doesn’t think to tremor, rivers all about him flowing with corpse. The dead. Rot. But maybe -- certainly -- he’s grown too used to the terror; it wears him like his skin.

And why, he thinks, should he balk at his body? The ghosts that cling to him? The visions in his head?

At-- “Tae,” he starts, stirring beside the dream-river. The phantom looms there. Still, there’s fog that wreathes thick about them, and through the whispering white, their hand reaches out. Hello, they seem to say.

Cường blinks. Something glints in their palm, and he grabs it, careful. It almost bleeds him. He raises it, dream-moon licking it silver, and his wonder bubbles wild. “A gift?” he asks, blinking back. The mirror shard captures that face of his, and again: god, how alive he is. How breathing, unabashed, and pink, rosy in the full of his cheeks...! Tae looks. Tae settles.

Of course, they might have said. Cường’s not too sure; his head’s foggy, and hey: a present, straight from one’s heart, is a present, no? And a special one, too, don’t you think?

Hm. The dreamer tilts the shard to capture both their faces -- him, sun-warm and lively, and them, sharp and cold -- gazes met. Suddenly, a gust takes, pleasant, and the grasses between his toes tremble... "Do you--” there, bumped against my shoulder, “hate what you see so much?”

That they’d give him this thing? That they’d join him, staring?

“Or do you just like what you see in me?” That I live? That I can wake from here?

If what looks like's going to happen actually does tonight, then I have a couple of thoughts.

First, if it is absolutely certain that George Eads never plans on coming back to the show, then I think giving Jack a proper (if not utterly heart-rending) send off is ultimately better than this silenced limbo on the matter. I am the kind of person who can't stand the will they/won't they for very long. I do understand if there are people who prefer to have that suspension of hope, but I'd rather have some kind of resolution, one way or the other.

Also, I feel like this course of action (again, only if they are 100% certain Eads will never want to come back) is so much more respectful to his character than just going on like he doesn't exist.

Think of it this way: The characters would now be *forced* to acknowledge him and what he means to them again. This might be the best way for Jack to get the proper goodbye and recognition that he deserves.

And if he does die, I feel like the show can continue to go on much in the same way it did before, except now (hopefully) with a little bit more mention of and angst surrounding him.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I still love the show just as much as I did when he was on it (though I do miss him very much). Perhaps that's because Mac is my favorite character and I never really watched exclusively for Jack. I don't know.

But even though I miss the crap out of him and am really frustrated that he wasn't even mentioned in S4, the fourth season is actually my favorite storywise. I love the overarching story, the darker tones, the emotional turmoil Mac goes through, the conflict and loss and watching him deal with it.

Again, let me reiterate that I love Jack and never wanted him to leave.

But I do think that some of what came out of his departure was good for Mac's character. He was forced to face this darkness without his partner by his side, and the lack of this dependency on Jack gave him no choice but to develop emotionally as a character in a way he wouldn't have been able to with Jack as support.

A few other thoughts...

I actually really like Russ. I don't think he's supposed to be a replacement for Jack at all, and that's not how I see him. I think he's an interesting and fun character in his own right, completely separate from my feelings for Jack.

Similarly, I think Desi is a total badass and I love her. I'm not crazy about her and Mac as a couple just because I feel like until they learn individually how to accept themselves and one another for who they are and actually connect emotionally, the relationship can only be toxic. But I can honestly see myself shipping them (in the right circumstances). That being said, I think Mac/Riley, Desi/Russ, and Desi/Riley are all fun ships that I would love to see.

I don't like Eli at all. I think it's dumb in any fandom to add a character that can do what your supposedly unique main character can. The only person who came close to this in the original was Murdoc, and that was because he was the Moriarty to MacGyver's Sherlock.

I do think that the writers are spending far too much time on side characters this season. I did love to see Desi's family dynamic and Matty and Russ out in the field together, but the show is called MacGyver. Maybe I'm biased because he's my favorite character, but he's also the main one, and I would actually like to see that applied in the show.

My favorite episode of the show is the Tesla one. I loved the depth, the symbolism, the emotional trauma. I wish they'd do more like it. I did think it was incredibly dumb for the writers not to reference Jack at any point in Mac's psyche. He's such a huge part of Mac's life, and that bit of erasure really stopped that episode from being at it's full potential. However, my head canon is that Mac is so upset by Jack leaving that he's locked him away into the back of his mind because he's too painful to think about.

Ultimately, I love this show. Do I think that the writers have always made the right decisions? Absolutely not. Do I think that CBS has handled promotional material well? HECK. NAH. Do I wish Jack would come back? Yes, 100%. But this show still brings me so much joy. I love the characters and the actors and the love that is poured into it by the people who truly care.

And I hope so hard that if even if Jack doesn't make it, that the show will. I want the story to continue because the sad truth of it all is one that we so adamantly try to deny: People die. Shit happens. But just because one person is gone doesn't mean that we can't find a way to move on, even if a part of us will never quite be the same. Jack was a very important part of the show, and he always will be. But the show, like life, can move on, and if they play it right, then his memory will live on. Just like in life.

Anyway, that's my Ted Talk for the day. I'm not at all trying to offend anyone or start an argument, but I've been needing to articulate these thoughts for a very long time and it feels so good to do so. If you disagree with me on any point, that's totally fine.

Question 4) Have You Ever Dyed Your Hair?

Yes! 

I’ve never dyed my full head because I’m a redhead and it just never comes back the same once you dye it, but I have dyed my tips a few times. I’ve done, purple, blue, green, and black, but since I never bleach my hair (my mom gets fussy about me dying it myself for some reason, despite the fact that I am not a child) it always ends up just a mucky brown in the end. 

Funnily enough, I dyed the last two or three inches of my hair black last summer and it’s still blackish-brown! I can’t wait to chop it out, though, it ruins my natural highlights but I don’t want to lose the length after growing it out for so long. 

Question 8) What Would You Say Is Your Best Quality?

My loyalty. 

Once someone wins me over, they have my fealty for life. Literally. I will give the shirt off my back and my last dollar for someone I love, and I will also go down defending them no matter what it means for me. It’s easily used by people who aren’t very nice, but loyalty is important to me, so I am simply a good little boo boo the fool when it comes to those who have earned my respect, like Igor!

Question 12) What Do You Think About The Most?

Deadlines. 

Right now I’m counting down the days till college (which also means the last days being in-state with my sisters, who I will rarely see from now on into the rest of my life since I’m moving west and my younger sister intends to move out east) while also trying to find a way to schedule in a summer job, plan my future fics, work out all my remaining deadlines for college stuff, and find time to do all the other things I need to do right now like deep clean my room and house before my uncle and cousins with asthma come to stay (we’re all gonna be fully vaccinated and past our 2 week waiting period) in early June. 

Because that is always how it seems to be. I want a villain that speaks softly to the m/c because they know that a child has been sent to fight them. Because they know others are hiding behind a child. It was never the kid's fault, it was unfair to send a child to fight the battles of adults.

They try so hard. They push beyond what any other child should have to, but still they are just children being convinced to fight an insurmountable evil for the good of those who are too afraid to face the horror they made.

This is why I would be a villian. Probably a Dr. Horrible style villain or a villain with strict moral codes. I may despise what people can become, but that is because I know they could do so much better and be so much better. A child or even young adult shouldn't be sent in the place of the one who started the war to begin with. (Politicians of America, I'm fucking looking at y'all.)

These kids that have done so well and endured so much pain, trauma, and seen the horrors of the world at such a young age. It was unfair to send them. They could have never won. But it is time for them to rest now, and for the adults to hash it out. If not for themselves, then for each 'chosen one' that has been cut down. Each bright spark of joy that has been extinguished. Each child who was told they could do anything, only to be crushed by a world they were never ready for.

It is time for the children to stop fighting the wars of adults. There is enough time to hate life later, but there are only so many precious moments to see life as a child would.

No more little broken bodies. No more bright lights being extinguished. No more 'chosen one' heroes. No more kids dying for sins they never commited.
