@thirstworldproblemss here for the DVD Commentary thing. This bit from Yours Just As It Was please? (I love this ‘verse!!)
And then there’s Will’s brother, Benny.
There’s something special about Benny. Something really one in a million.
You can feel him as soon as he enters the house, this burst of youthful energy bounding in alongside Francisco’s quiet, steady aura and the baby’s own dose of sweet sunshine. He’s exclaiming over the home, telling Francisco, this is sick, man, this place looks great, and maybe that would be enough to endear him to you on its own, but then when he enters the living room with the baby on his hip, he spots you across the room and he stops still.
“Oh,” he says, looking surprised. You wave cautiously, a light flutter of your fingers, and the baby coos and waves back and Benny looks between you and her and lets out a shocked bark of laughter. “Hi,” he says.
“What are you laughing at?” Francisco asks, coming in behind them. He’s distracted, digging for something in the baby’s diaper bag, but he looks up and follows Benny’s gaze across the room as he glances to you and back to Francisco. He waits expectantly, without acknowledging your presence, and you watch as Benny figures it out.
“Oh,” he says again. “Nothing. Just the baby being cute.” He pokes her chubby cheek and Francisco gives the two of them a fond smile.
“Yeah, well,” he says, “she takes after me.”
“Ha, ha,” Benny tells him dryly, and his eyes flick to you again to share an unimpressed shake of his head, making you laugh. Benny bites back a smile but Francisco is oblivious, finally setting the bag down on the end of the couch and reaching to take his daughter, who rests her head contentedly against his shoulder.
“Is it naptime, mija?” he murmurs. Then, to Benny, he asks, “You want to grab a couple of beers while I put her down? I want to show you the garage. I’m thinking we can turn it into a home gym and do some training out there.”
“Cool, man,” Benny says. He trails after him but turns and gives you one last wave as he leaves the room, shaking his head in wonder.

Hiiiii @thirstworldproblemss I kept meaning to text you last week to say hi! I hope you had a nice birthday 😘
Anyway my commentary on this is: I love Benny.
Okay, okay, maybe I can come up with something else. I've been thinking about and working on and brainstorming with @fleetwoodmactshirt re: this story for so long now I honestly don't quite remember how I came up with the idea that Benny could see the ghost. I think I might have even suggested it as a joke but then it just... felt right. I've gotten a couple of comments from people theorizing that he can see her because he's particularly pure of heart or childlike, but that's actually not the case. Benny can see the ghost because he once got knocked out so hard in a fight that he was technically dead for a minute and since then the veil to the Other Side has been a bit patchy for him. So she's not the first ghost he's ever seen. He keeps it quiet because he doesn't want people thinking he's crazy, and baby is the first other person he's known who can see them too, hence his moment of surprise in this scene.
I think... It was important to me for narrative reasons that Frankie couldn't see her, but I also liked the idea of ghost having an ally in the house. And Benny, who is earnest and loyal and sociable, is also the baby of their friend group and I think sometimes gets treated as such... so I liked, I guess, the weightiness of giving him a secret sort of-friend and watching how he cares for them, apart from the guys.
I also love the line about his energy and contrasting it to Frankie's. I think we all know how much I love their dynamic (lol), so I enjoyed thinking about how it would come across to Ghost with the way she sees people.
