i saw the Michael movie
really enjoyed this more than I expected
Michael is a nostalgic and surprisingly immersive look at Michael Jackson’s journey, carried by a performance that feels almost unreal at times.
Jaafar Jackson stands out immediately—there are moments where it genuinely feels like you’re watching Michael himself. The supporting cast, including Nia Long and Colman Domingo, adds strong emotional grounding to the story.
The film works best when it focuses on Michael’s desire to create his own path. Watching him push beyond expectations—going solo, redefining his sound, and refusing to be boxed in—feels heartfelt and personal. The MTV moment especially stands out, capturing his determination to make music for everyone.
However, the story feels slightly incomplete at times. Certain parts of his life seem cut short or glossed over, which makes the overall narrative feel a bit uneven despite how engaging it is.
Overall, it’s a very enjoyable and nostalgic experience, especially for fans, and one that’s worth watching—possibly even more than once.

hot take: biopics don’t need to show everything, but skipping too much can make even a powerful story feel incomplete.
