In the unrelenting dunes of Vacuo sits an old saloon. Beaten by the desert, the Grimm and both man and faunus alike.  Ever standing strong over all these years of service to any who'd come. And now, like most days, there's a brawl here, drunkard there, and laughter as far as the eye could see in this merry establishment. This was a happy time and everyone's spirits was as high as the skies above. Not a frown was seen in the rowdy spot as there was song and story waitin' to be heard to any open ear.

And what a story it was, sitting at the counter a bartender told the tale as best he could to all the lifeless drunks that he housed.

"Alright ya varmants, settle down and let me tell ya the tale. This here's a true story so lend an ear if ya please! Right here is a tale of a village, and a monster so foul, so cruel, so vile and deadly that any huntsmen worth their salt, turned tail and ran like a schoolboy 'fraid of a scrap. For generation on generation, this monster terrorized these here folks.  Year after year with no end in sight this vile thing tortured these poor citizens. Until one day upon the scorching winds of vacuo a wanderer arrived in the dead of night. He was a man with eyes of fire that would consume all in its path. Now whether these flames were bloodsoaked or pure, I've no idea, but what I do know is that this would be a night no villager would dare forget."

Raised high in the desert sky hangs the moon in all its shattered glory, showering and bathing the land in its silvery light as it ushers in the cool of the dark.  But where there should be peace and rest there is instead fear and panic. For on this still night, like so many before it, houses a monster of nightmarish proportions. It's body is as black as the night sky and is as visceral and decrepit as all that lay beneath the earth.  it slinks and slithers through the sands like a snake searching for its prey. As this thing constantly contorts and morphs into the stuff of nightmares with each sight. All through the village there is no sound to be heard, and no lights to be seen as fear of the beast echoes through all as they sit there motionless. Praying and pleading for the monster to pass them by.

Though it would seem fate was indeed cruel on this day. For this one very night there sits a child at the mercy of this Grimm. Frozen in fear and teary in eyes he silently begs for help, but no matter how hard he pleads, all the townspeople stay still. His eyes flood with tears, screaming and bellowing til his voice grows hoarse. No matter how long or hard he would cry for their help none would come. And as the vibrations of this Grimm grew closer, and the rising of the sands her higher, the little boy shuts his eyes in despair, awaiting his final moments abandoned by his people. But as the ground beneath him began to open, he heard a static hum. Every hair on his body stood up at once as he felt no pain, instead he felt himself being enveloped on warmth. Shocked at the sensation the child snaps open his eyes and gazes at what happened. And it was then the boy saw he had scooped up by a raggedy man in a storm patterned poncho. The man who had saved him appeared to be a boy, no older than his late teens who stood guard over him. The child stared at the boy as lightning arced in every direction around his flame pupiled savior. As with a turn of his head the older boy smiled warmly before patting the boy on the head. Reassuring the child that everything would be alright now that he was here.

And with a step of his foot the dark skinned teenager drew his twin pistols as the grim stared him down. Twitching and contorting it's grotesque body into something akin to a spider gone wrong. It's body leaked a black smoke as it gave a chilling shriek before it charged. Chuckling in excitement the gunslinger dashed to the side at a breakneck speed. As close behind the sound of two bullets rang out.  While they made their journey, the beasts flesh and bones folded atop one another as it corkscrewed in the earth. As two casings fell to the earth an even larger vibration shook the ground. Confused at the tremors the huntsman searched for a source only to find two mounds begin to ebbe up on either side of him. Instincts flaring he pushed back as two spikes of bone shot out from the ground in front of him.    Easing his breath the hunter smirked at what had occurred. As he landed on the ground, second after second passed while tremors vibrated beneath the teen's boots while blue orbs eyed the sand in an energetic manner, anxiously awaiting his opponents next play. And after one last second of silence that move was shown. Feeling his left foot rise up, the boy rolled to the side as a spike of bone erupted from the earth. But that was not all that awaited the hunter. As with his roll the sand at his side split open to reveal an open mouthed Grimm that was inches away from claiming another prize. A cool jolt flooded the hunters veins as he jerked to fire his twin guns, aiming to the ground he propelled himself over its open maw before landing with a cloud of dirt. Scrambling to his feet, the hunter felt a prodding from the sand as right where he was sitting another bone jabbed through the ground. Thinking fast on his feet he used the momentum from his scramble to kick the jagged spike. Though it would seem that his attack merely went through black smoke

Smiling wickedly he cocked his head to the side in a chuckle. This grim caught his interest and he wasn't gonna stop till that thing stayed in the ground for good. Twirling his pistols in his hands a snaping sound of electricity sounded as sparks flew off the teen while he awaited the Grimm once again. Crunching his foot into the sand, he felt the ground give way as he began his run. Launching off with his foot he raced around the grim as more and more bones, and now swipes erupted from his last position. Again and again the grim tried to claim the boy but to no avail as the hunter was one second faster. Growling in frustration the grim erupted to the scene, swinging, and careening its massive rake-like hand in the direction the huntsman was heading. Chuckling in glee the boy hopped and used the monsters swat to launch him in the air. Even more so than before, blue arcs of electricity snapped with ferocity as they crackled in the air. Delivering a sound akin to a thousand chirping birds as this boy was cloaked in a blanket of electric blue energy.

Gazing to the earth as his decent continued, he saw the grim dive and erupt again and again. Searching and hounding for the missing huntsman that dare escape its claws. And with that, the huntsman felt a pelting feeling pattar against him as the  sand was knocked up in the sky. The grim couldn't see nor hear, but it could sense with vibrations. And with the pelting sand it found its target and jumped in the air for its prey, and as the beast made its way to the boy, the child stared at the grim without fear as his flames crackled to life around his pupils. Raising his pistols in front of him he aimed at the grim with electric-fiery eyes.

And as the two gained a hair of distance the boy cried "draw" as the two clashed in the sky. But in the end, all that was heard were the echoes of a gun, and the crackle of electricity as the sky, their battle ground, was filled with arcing lightning. And as the huntsman made his way to the earth, all knew who shot first. As in the end, all that was left of the Grimm were it's ashes.

DESPICABLE ME 3 Third Trailer
