Nobody has pointed this out to him though because he doesn’t. He doesn’t really show the more stereotypical symptoms, while he did talk a lot as a kid he wasn’t excessively hyperactive and when he was younger he excelled in school with ease, once he was older he still had really good grades but he had to work twice as hard to get those grades. Paying attention was a struggle for him, he was partial to day dreaming and zoning out no matter how hard he tried to concentrate. He continues to have a hard time just doing things, and he thinks he’s just lazy but he doesn’t realize how hard “just doing things” is for him, cleaning and other tasks he doesn’t particularly care for are agonizing to him and he just doesn’t know why.

I think that on some level, though, Everett knew. Everett had adhd as well but it was more obvious to people, but even when it was brought up to his mom she would’ve brushed it off saying her perfect child couldn’t possibly have anything “wrong” with him. He was a lot more hyperactive and unfocused and he would’ve kind of figured out himself what it was, even if his mom wasn’t hearing it, but because of this he’d pick up on it from Eli as well. He’d pick up on how hard it is for him to do things he dislikes, no matter how hard he tries, and he’d pick up on how poorly he responds to sensory overload, and he’d know how to help him or calm him down, he’d never shut him down when he was talking about his hyperfixations and when Eli described his experiences in odd or super specific ways Everett would’ve understood, and this would’ve been part of the reason Eli assumed everyone felt like this, since it was just as normal to Everett.
