Student- Mr. ___ you should take my mom and me to red robins
Me- did... did you just ask me on a date with your mom?
Student- only because the fries are so good
We often say all sorts of amusing, even somewhat profound things in class. I found this note in one of my old sketchbooks from a sketching and watercolor class I taught at WBWS years ago. #capecod #artclass #watercolor #thingsstudentssay https://www.instagram.com/p/Cic9c5UuXEA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Health Science Class
Student: Do you think I will be a good OB/GYN?
Me: Yeah I really do. You will have to work hard, but I think you will be able to do it.
Student: Would you let me be your OB/GYN?
Me: Uhhhh... No. That would be weird.

What some of my students want to learn in my class this semester.
Gave out pennies to students who finished the activity first today. A penny is worth more than you think;)
Mush and the 8th Grade
The 8th grade English class is reading Much Ado about Nothing, and getting to read dramatically and act it out.
We reached the final scene, which goes,
Benedick: Peace, I will stop your mouth! (Kisses Beatrice.)
And the boy playing Benedick reads: “Peace, I will … (reads the stage directions) … EWWWW!” He hurls the book across the room and begins to flail like a octopus, wailing, “I can never UNread that!!!!”
The rest of the class stared at him in consternation until one girl snarked, “Yeah, ‘cause no one’s ever done that before.”
