GUYS IM HAVING A CRISIS. SOS
ok its actually not that deep but i cannot decide if i want to study computer science or linguistics. like at all
i had my heart set on computer science + philosophy joint honours for the last 3 years but ive been processing over the last few months that it might actually enjoy a linguistics degree more.... ive become so sick of my computer science lessons but im soso excited to go to latin and im struggling to tell if that is because of the content of the classes themselves or the teachers and classes.
to me both subjects are deeply entwined and my understanding of each enhances the other but. as a degree i will likely have to pick one before i could consider studying computational linguistics as a masters
and i have been doing both outside of school all year..... i love coding and learning languages and i have been consistently doing both as hobbies for years, but now i have to decide which will stay a hobby and which i will study full-time..... asdfhkshdfahsdlhfalshdfskldf
im just gonna try to attend open days at a few unis and do lots of research into courses for both..... and keep up with supercurriculars for both in the meantime..... helpp...
VCE ART and why no one who actually enjoys creating should do it
this is for the aussies.
If you are in high school and are quite the creative and enjoy art, it will be fun all the way until year 11 and 12, when art no longer becomes art, but a process of unenjoyable slop you need to do just to have a week to create an actual artwork.
Being in VCE art and doing 3 portfolio subjects has been hard, but by far out of textiles, media, and art, i find art to be the hardest one. They expect you to be deep and meaningful with your work, but that meaning is so forced and so pulled out of you that you sort of lose the meaning as you struggle through the process of artist research and annotating every single little fucking thing you do, media trails and so on. This subject is so writing heavy that i feel like i am creative for 20% of the time and then im writing bullshit for the other 80%. VCAA dont care if your artwork looks good, they care about the shit behind it, and if you do anything other than realism you can forget top arts and forget being put in short list. because the only art they seem to find interesting is the same realism with the same story behind it. i found top arts this year so boring (not to say the people in it didnt deserve there spots, they were amazing) but i just found it repepitive, i found the artworks were has the same vibe as last year, i felt like there wasnt much variation of styles and such, it all just felt like one type clumped together with the same meaning just typed in different fonts.
Which goes onto my point of them sucking the fun out of creating, i find no joy in artist research or trailing out the same materials for every peice i make, and i dont want to branch out what i use, i know i dont like charcole, i know im not all in it for sculpting, so dont make me do that shit when i know my heart and soul is in the paints, the water colour, the goache, thats were i thrive, so let me be better where i thrive!! If VCE art was 80% creating and 20% writing, i feel more students would actually enjoy it and find the fun in it and the joys and beauty that come with creating peices and learning how to better there skills, instead your stuck with boring art theory on analysing artworks, i want to learn how to use my artistic skills, show me how to create more, show me how to use different techniques, show me anatomy tutorials, show me how to create, i dont give a fuck on art theory, i took art to make, not to do theory, there should be seperate subjects, art creative practice and art theory, not both intertwined. there is a special place in my heart for VCE art, and it is the passion and hearted i have for it.
[YEAR 12] Just Lion and the Dark Angel Seedling having a chitchat after training.
Angron's plans to return the traitor legion of the World Eaters back to the Imperium has begun to take fruition with the help of a surprising mentor. Having recovered from a sickly early childhood, he has impressed even the Lion with his melee abilities, particularly with the sword and shield.

The day that caught Vulkan off guard was when Lion informed him that he was taking the Dark Angel Seedling under his wing to squire. Vulkan had anticipated something like this happening, that wasn't the surprising thing. What surprised him was that it was the Seedling that had approached the Lion with the request himself. Who should I draw next for Year 12 portraits?
how is my lever arch file for psychology completely full and we haven't even finished the first year content OMG i hate everything
have to actually revise for further maths
