#thing 23

Go back to your thoughts/ideas about  mobile devices and apps. Has anything changed as a result of this experience?

I don't thing anything has changed. I got a new hybrid laptop at Christmas (Windows-based, touch screen, but with a keyboard). What I didn't realize about the Windows based machine is that it doesn't play well with Apple or Android, so doing apps for 23Things was difficult. I ended up using my android phone for most, and my desk computer at work for some. 

What were your favorite Things and discoveries?

I like creating and artistic things, as well as useful things. Quickoffice has been useful. Various slideshow options have been fun, and I had my kids use them for school work.  Here's emaze

How did you connect with others doing the 23 Mobile Things?

I really enjoyed following a variety of both library and non library people on tumblr. I will keep up my tumblr because I would miss posts by certain people.

Were there any take-a-ways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?

I think these programs and fun for learning and very useful to library-specific work. 

What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or content?

I think you did a great job of making such a broad topic manageable. However, I know there are people in my building who were trying to go through it, but they were borrowing someone else's device and it became cumbersome to the point of great difficulty.

If we offered a another 23 Things program like this in the future would you participate?

Yes, always.

How would you describe your learning experience in one word or in one sentence, so we could use your words to promote 23 Things learning activities to others?

My final thing!  I thought I would never make it.

Now, for my final thoughts on 23 Things:

What did you most enjoy about the 23 Things program?

I think I enjoyed looking at my coworkers' blogs the most.  Now all I need to do is go back and make some comments!  It was fun to learn about everyone's interests and reading how each individual's voice came through.

What did you least enjoy about the 23 Things program? 

I think what I enjoyed the least was the feeling that I would never catch up with the program.  That had nothing to do with the program itself and everything to do with me!  Between meetings, library instruction, updating our webpages, and reference desk shifts, 23 Things was just sometimes not at the top of my to do list!  But overall it has been a fun project to be a part of.
