One day I am just going to snap and shatter any windows in my way. I will knock down any walls stopping me. I will burn any bridges that connected me to everyone who has ever belittled me. And the whole world will sit with their hands running through their hair wondering what they could have done differently.I will smile and proceed with life without a blink of an eye. You hit me and I will spit the blood from my mouth in your face. Don’t worry about where this sense of entitlement came from, it has always been within. A little wave turned into a tsunami; that is something you do not have the mind to fathom.

Go ahead, please, tell me how I lack self respect. Tell me how displaying my body is oh so terribly degrading. Please do tell me how feeling comfortable in my skin is a sin. Oh no, do go on, tell me how you have any idea how my level of respect for myself is doing. Please, enlighten me. Tell me how my anatomy is offensive to you. Tell me where you got your entitlement to lay a finger on me from. Oh, you can’t tell me? Well, then I guess I’ll have to let you know. You should know that I have got the whole fucking universe inside me. that the stars are equivalent to my eyes, the rivers equivalent to my hair, the mountains equivalent to my breasts, the forest equivalent to my mind and my intellect as vast as the ocean. That’s self respect for you. Self respect is rewarding myself, carrying my head high in situations where people try to harm me, and cutting out toxic people from my life.

I can’t wait for the day I’ll read something and it won’t remind me of you anymore. That’s what keeps me going, knowing one day I’ll be able to erase you…and if that day never comes, the fuck.
