I just finished a Missing Year one-shot, so I will be starting the next chapter of Meant to Be Yours this evening! Given that it summer and I have a pretty solid outline in my head of what the chapter will entail, it should be posted in couple of days :)

OK that post is getting way too long and it’s annoying to read on my phone so…

OK first off, A&E are idiots.  They really are.  Frankly I don’t think they should be engaging with anyone on Twitter.  They don’t care about anyone in this fandom.  All they care about is creating buzz online.  Be it positive or negative. They don’t give a flying fuck about any of us.

I’m not sure how long you’ve been following my OUaT blog but I have tried to do what you’re suggesting.  As have others.  I’m a little blog.  I don’t have a lot of followers, CS or otherwise. I don’t have much of a voice.

But I have tried.  I’ve yelled at tag invaders.  I’ve spoken calmly to tag invaders. I’ve yelled at people for using the Savior Queen tag.  I’ve spoken calmly to people using it.  And I’ve been able to get some people to stop using it by gently explaining why it was so offensive.  Most of them didn’t realize.  I’ve publicly stated that the assholes in the fandom do not speak for me.  As have dozens of other people I know in CS.

I’ve defended Swen (well everyone but Swen in particular) from anon hate, tag invasions and post hijacks. I’ve screamed at post hijackers. I’ve sent messages of support to people in Swen, both as me and as an anon.  Not just the Swen I know but to random people I’ve been told have received hate.

And then I open my dashboard to see several rants about how disgusting and sick CSers are.  

You know what, forget everyone else for a moment.  Let’s talk about me. Because that’s how all of this started.

How do you think I feel when I see stuff like CSers are homophobic/racist? How they support rape.  Abuse.  

How do you think I feel when I get an anon telling me I deserve to be raped because I ship CS?  And I’ve gotten a couple of those.  

How do you think I feel when I open my dash and see a post mocking the shit out of a post written by someone I care about.  And when I click on the notes I see people I’ve defended or sent supportive messages to participating in that sort of cruelty.

How do you think I feel when I see people I’ve defended laughing and having fun with one of the most vile individuals I’ve ever encountered online.  A person who constantly invades tags, hijacks posts.  Who fills their blog with some of the meanest, vilest, grossest vitriol I’ve ever seen.  About me.  Me and my friends.

How do you think all of that makes me feel?

I keep being told to pick up my trash in the CS fandom.  Who picks up yours?

Who defends me when shit happens?  There are a very few who do and I appreciate them more than I can say.

Have you ever defended me?  Because I don’t think you ever have.  I could be wrong but I don’t think I am.

So honestly, how do you think I feel when I’m lumped in with people like Z or Mikey (when I have all of those people blocked and blacklisted because they offend me as much as they offend you) while the people I’ve defended, that I’m being told I HAVE TO defend, not only don’t have people like Shawn, Angstbot and Scarimor blocked but interact with them on a daily basis? How do think I feel when I’m being labelled as an asshole solely on the grounds that I ship the same fictional couple as Z or Mikey while people I follow(ed) not only ship the same couple as Shawn but talk to her every fucking day? Have I ever once blamed anyone else in Swen for the actions of those few assholes?  Have I?

How do you think I feel when one of those people talk shit, not just about CSers but ME personally and… *crickets*.  

Because I’ll tell you partly how I feel.

I feel as though I’m being used to fight Swen’s battles.  I’m being used to spread SJW terms throughout the CS fandom.  I’m apparently the one who has been designated as the CS trash collector.  Because clearly my feelings don’t matter.  Because I ship Captain Swan.

I had this very epiphany last week.

So yeah.  I’m going to continue to defend the CSers that I know and care about.  Be they white, straight, POC, LGBT+ or anything in between.

And if someone I care about in Swen is attacked I’m going to defend them too. I will defend you if I see you getting attacked because you’re one of the people I care about.

But Swen as a whole?  I’m done.  They’re on their own.  I said that after the Kathryn Incident.  I meant it then and I mean it now.

I’m going to defend the people who matter to me and ONLY the people who matter to me.

ETA:  I’m not here to tell people how to blog.  I’m not.  I’m not asking anyone to change what they’re doing.  I’m not asking anyone to choose between me or anyone they follow.  All I’m trying to do is explain how I feel when I see shit like that and am then told that it’s somehow MY responsibility to clean up the CS fandom.  All I’m trying to explain is why I’ve had to unfollow so many people that I really liked.  All I’m trying to explain is why I’ve had to take a step back and take care of myself.
