As far as many Polynesians, including myself, are concerned, Polynesian cultures are pretty much the same across the board. They're not completely interchangeable, but we're not exactly separate entities, either. There's some cultural variation per each set of islands, but the core culture is almost exactly the same on all of them.

Oh, interesting! I’ve seen at least one Polynesian person express the contrary in regards to Moana, so it seems that opinions are mixed even within the community - which, shouldn’t be surprising, I suppose.

Battle intro: [A soft laugh, a tired tone] “I heard rumors about you... Figures that when I finally run into you, it’s under the pretense of battle.”

Battle theme: Sub Pub Music - Parallel Proximity

Victory: [Joking a little, not as in-your-face as she normally might be] “Aaaand the end of the world delayed by one more day. I wonder if that’s enough to garner hero status?”

Defeat: “...” [too ashamed and self-hating in the moment to speak]

Assist: [Slightly uneasy but friendly smile] “Remind me not to get on your bad side.”

Taunt: “I’ll show you the taste of Noxian Steel!”

Reacting to Taunt: [Amused, exasperated] “Not today!”

Flee: [A charming smile and a wink, paired with a mock salute] “Perhaps we’ll meet again sometime...”

Reacting to Flee: “I’m not so sure I should be letting you run away...  Ah well.”

Tie: [Tired and suppressing a smirk] “Hah, you’re a tough one... Not that I didn’t expect that.”

Perfect Victory: “And you’re this... void’s champion? Ergh. Can’t say I’m looking forward to whatever it dishes out as revenge.”

Finishing Move: “The end is come a little early for you, Prophet.”

  That scent. That aura. It was eerily familiar to Maug'rin. She lifts her head, tentacles swaying this way and that trying to identify the scent. It was of the void, that much she could tell. But it also smelled of human. She has smelled this one before. A time ago...

  She suddenly tensed with interest and wariness. She most definitely recognized this one. It was the scent of 'Malzahar', the being she met at the rift when she entered Runeterra.

  Now knowing of his presence, she hastened out to greet him. She skids over a few dunes, struggling just a bit to climb the last and peer over to where the prophet lingered. Carefully slinking down to where Malzahar was, she was slow and a tad uncertain in her movement. She hadn't really noticed it the last time she'd encountered him, but his void presence was strong, though masked.

  Coming to stand before him she tilted her head to one side a bit, before lowering it to make herself seem nonthreatening, tail drooping to lay along the sands. Communicating in the tongue of the void, she makes her greeting.

  "Welcome, to my small piece of the desert. What brings you here?"

*I float gently over the sands as the moon rises high over the Shurima Dessert, stopping now and again to gaze at the ruins around me, reflecting on times long past. Malzahar... Or should I call you by the names of your masters? Even I find it difficult to tell if there is anything left of the prophet who journeyed into Icathia. Am I speaking to a man, or merely a vessel for the the beings that rule over The Void?

She pauses, then slides the book back into the library’s shelf. She had been expecting someone to interrupt her, while she was on her break. It was Free Week; it never rains, but it pours.
