Two friends playing dominos. One of the things I love about old Havana (and something I love about a lot of communities in other parts of the world that rely on each other more than we do in the US) is that the lines between “inside” the home and “outside” the home are much more blurred. A lot of it is because of practical reasons like not having air conditioning and needing to keep your doors and windows wide open to the street. But a lot of it, I’m sure, is because you need to know your neighbors to survive. So there’s a feeling of openness that we don’t have here. Of course, there is plenty of crime and reason to be private and protective there, too, but the openness to the street feels like a call back to a time when we were all more connected. And for a photographer, it provides a lot of peeks into “inside” lives of people, friends and families. . . . . . #streetphotos #streetpotrait #losangelesart #killergrams #thevisualones #electric_shotz #streetstory #zonestreet #fromstreetswithlove #streetvision #moodyportrait #moodyportraits #urbanaisle #streetoftones #urbangrammers #1instinct #streettogether #streetmagazines #ig_street #lensculturestreets #beststreets #streetleaks #streetlife_award #streettogs #gringosonparade #havana #havanacuba #havanavieja (at Havana, Cuba) https://www.instagram.com/p/BoW8w-ABkex/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=9trpjmuy5l72
