NORTHERN RIGHT WHALE DOLPHINS! Lissodelphis borealis, a dorsal fin-less species that tends to spend its time far offshore in colder waters, comes in close in Monterey Bay when the conditions are right. A gregarious species, we've seen groups of these animals mixed in with risso's dolphins and pacific white sides dolphins, feeding and traveling together.
