#TheYogaMatrix | #TheTrinitySessions | Day 04 |#TrinityInverts AND a Knee update (below), but first... I was hoping I'd be able to jump in & keep up with this challenge, but I decided to take a chill. Still gotta show love to these brilliant hosts for thinking up this challenge! @piit_princess_liz, @cece.carson, @helen_garner_yoga, @vythathin, @jeminajakin, @omniyogagirl, and @gwtrucks (Poses featured: @TheYogaMatrix) Alrighty... 4 week Knee Update! Getting the fluid drained from my knee allowed relief from the stiffness and my range of motion is returning - I'm able to bend it further and further beyond 90 degrees and I'm working on knee flexion so I can get back to my "comfortable seat"! With the swelling gone, I can now see some awesome atrophy in my lower thigh, above my knee (Ewwww!). The exercise causing the most "discomfort" is a "Seated Staff Isometric Quad Engagement" exercise. (i.e. Sit up straight with your legs straight out in front of you. Engage your quads and flex your feet, which will lift your heels off the floor). Sounds like nothing right? KILLS right in and around the knee cap. Didn't expect that. The weird pulsating muscle "ticks" I was getting have stopped, for the most part. I can go up & down the stairs, one foot per step now, instead of both feet/every step. THAT got old... QUICK! And the aches from compensating, like crazy calf and foot cramps, are going away. Bottom line: every single morning, I wake up feeling better and stronger than the day before and there's a lot less of my knee feeling like it wants to hyperextend back out of the socket... Thank God! I miiiight get yelled at when I maybe forget to have my knee brace on. It can be off when I'm "sitting around"' but for me, sitting around is actually... sitting for 5 minutes, realizing there's something I need to do & getting up to do it. All day. So, "just sitting around" without the brace winds up being me walking around without the brace. Finally - Thank you, thank you, thank you - yet again for all the prayers, love, support, healing vibes, check-in calls/messages/texts, etc that I've received! It's been UNBELIEVABLY uplifting and I'm so grateful!
