Eagles vs. Phillies
Have you ever been to both stadiums in 1 day⚾️🏈? If you live in this city, chances are, you’ve been to at least one or you’ve seen someone lose their mind over a game. I went on a behind the scenes tour of both stadiums one morning, this forces you to judge... Which one is cushier? Which one has a better locker room? Which one is better at protecting the environment? This is what I found out...
⚾️The Phillies stadium: It’s a bit warmer and more inviting, especially for families, not to mention the more affordable ticket prices. While carefully walking the diamond, I felt that the stadium was a bit more dynamic than the Eagles stadium as I took a 360 view. Love the Ivy laden walls, standing room areas, Ashburn Alley, upper level bars, kids playground etc.
On a side note: The Eagles locker room was way bigger than the Phillies, but the Phillies locker room was cuter. My feelings were also affected by the fact that The Phillies season is upon us and their stadium felt more alive.
I also liked the over-the-top pro baseball wall of more than 16,000 Rawlings ⚾️baseballs that were gifted to the stadium as long as the balls were attached to the wall with the RAWLINGS LABEL FACING OUT instead of the MLB label (very clever). There just seemed to be more detailed touches that added that feeling of warmth to the space.
♻️The Phillies Stadium goes green in these ways...
They have a high-volume organic waste decomposition system, created by BioHitech America, to safely and quickly decompose VIRTUALLY ALL organic food waste (diverting the material from a landfill).
The stadium recycles all of it’s 🍟frying oil into biofuel!
The Phillies purchases 100% renewable energy each year. Note: that’s the equivalent to the planting of 100,000 trees! 🦅The Eagles stadium: The owner made sure that there is always a gorgeous view of the city skyline from the stadium and that it gets props for it’s strides towards being environmentally friendly. Here are just a few of the ways the Eagles stadium is leading the way on the sustainable issue:
♻️NO FOOTPRINT!! The Eagles employs a team to people to separate garbage after every event so that EVERYTHING that can be recycled is recycled. Our tour guide says its a rough job, but necessary. And for the amount that is not recyclable, they make up for it by reforestation by creating a 6.5 acre “Eagles Forest” in Bensalem, PA with the help of The Conservation Fund and the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Since 2007, the team has planted more than 5,900 trees, which has offset 7,500 tons of CO2e.
More than 10,000 buckets of Chickie’s N Pete’s Crab Fries are sold at any given event... all that fry oil is recycled into biofuel just like the Phillies!
Have you seen the ☀️solar panels on the stadium from 95? Lincoln Financial Field’s solar/wind project, powered by NRG, features 14 wind turbines and 11,108 solar panels which produces 33% of the stadiums annual usage. The remaining 66% is covered by purchased renewable energy credits, meaning the stadium is off the grid completely. The Eagles stadium was also designed so that there are no obstructions and all the seats are facing the center of the field for the best viewing experience.
So, the Eagles stadium is amazing because of the above reasons, but it’s a bit cold compared to the Phillies. In conclusion the Eagles stadium wins because of it’s utility and environmental initiatives, but the Phillies stadium wins as well because of it’s friendly and inviting experience.
