Hi! I recently upgraded to a new flute from a very old student model, and learning on that I was given vague common sense instructions on taking care of it, but now with this one I want to make sure I'm doing everything right, and I wanted to ask you stuff like how often should I polish it? How long should I wait after eating? (I go with 30mins, is that too little?) is there a specific way I should clean the inside? How often should I take it in for tune ups? Anything else you think I should do?
Here’s a video on that! I wouldn’t polish it with a silver polish cloth more than like once a year.  Microfiber cloths are okay any time.  With eating, you can brush your teeth and rinse your mouth well and then you should be good.  I get my adjusted once a year and then bring it in for more immediate issues.Â

Hey! which universities in canada would you say have good music programs but are not entirely music universities?
Well there aren’t actually that many music only schools in Canada.  U of T, McGill, Ottawa, Laurier, Western, UBC, and Université de Montreal are the ones that I know of that are really good. There are probably others too!
