legacy. what is a legacy?
Okay. So I thought I was done talking about the Reverse Crypt Scene, but I'm not.
I found more things to talk about that I forgot to add into my original, very long reaction text post. So I’m just gonna sit and analyze this a little bit because that’s what I do, and hey it’s late and my minds going, so why the hell not?
The “Reverse Crypt Scene” (What I’m gonna refer to this from now on) really got my attention in two ways: One, the similarity between the two, and secondly, the differences as well.
We all know that the circumstances leading up to both scenes were different. That’s a given. However, both Cas and Dean (In season 10 and 8 respectively) are basically trying to get the other to come out of some sort of higher beings control. But there’s such a stark difference between the two situations that I feel the need to just point out.
If you watch Season 8’s scene, you’ll notice that Cas has a blank expression on his face while attacking Dean. He was being mind controlled to attack Dean. In Season 10 from tonight’s episode, Dean doesn’t look blank. He looks pissed. He’s angry. He’s just done with everything. And that rage gives him all the more reason (In his mind basically, because he told them to stop looking for a way to cure him and leave it alone) to beat the crap out of Cas and even threaten death the next time, contrasting Season 8 where Cas stopped what he was doing and broke free from Naomi’s control. Cas didn’t punch Dean or hit him anymore after that.
Dean is just so angry, and I feel like that rage is just not going to end well. Especially not with Death in the Season Finale.
