Teddy’s heart wavers. In theory, it would be nice if you could bring someone back from the dead. After all, they lost their parents. To have just one conversation with them? They don’t know what they’d ask, they don’t know what they’d say, but surely it would be the most amazing moment of their life.
But seeing Harry come back? Knowing no one? Knowing nothing? It’s cruel.
The world didn’t deserve to lose Harry so early, but for Harry’s friends and family to suffer knowing he’s lost and confused? Nothing about this is good. Nothing about it is fair.
Teddy would never risk bringing someone back, no matter how amazing it could be.

20. Are there any public figures or historical figures that your muse looks up to? Why?
I’m sure we’re all sick of hearing me rattle on about how much Persephone looks up to her parents, so I won’t bother this time — let’s instead talk about her immense respect for Harry James Potter. Persephone had always known of Harry, and when she started to get close to Lily, she knew Harry, but it wasn’t until the war started to rear its ugly head that Persephone really knew him. She’d always admired what Harry went through, what he did to save the Wizarding World when he was just a kid, but when the war came back once again, that was when the respect grew tenfold. Harry didn’t have to throw himself back in the firing line, but he did, and Persephone can’t help but look up to him as a figure of immense courage and loyalty to those he loves. Persephone wishes she could be as brave as Harry, and she tries every day to fight and make even a fraction of the difference that Harry has made on the world.
5. Which Deathly Hallow would appeal to your muse the most and why?
while the elder wand may seem enticing at first glance, james knows the stories of the three brothers too well to be willing to cope with that kind of power. and the resurrection stone never truly crossed his mind until the death of his father, but even then the costs far outweighed the benefits. instead, he’d probably be drawn towards the invisibility cloak. not only as an heirloom of their family, but also because james knows what it’s like to be constantly in the spotlight — if not by the media, who constantly berated and harassed james for information on his family, then by his peers at school, always expecting him to thrive as his parents did as if success was handed down by genetics alone instead of by james’ own tenacity, or by his co-workers, who know only of his surname and not of james himself, expecting him to solve problems when he’s only a rookie himself. to escape for even a little while and find solace in himself alone, hidden away from prying eyes… james craves it.
6. What are your muse’s thoughts on the Dark Arts? Would they ever use such magic themselves for whatever reason, or have they already done so in the past?
it’s a firmly held belief of james’ that he would never ever turn to the more extreme of the dark arts. sure, he’s thrown a jinx or a hex around before but never with the intention to permanently harm anybody. even if he’s never experienced anything first hand, he’s poured over the history of the first and second wars relentlessly in his attempt to understand his namesakes, and he’s learned enough in school to know that the dark arts are dangerous in any hands, not just those considered ‘evil’. instead, he’d rather rely on his natural ability in charms as his means of offense and defense. the only time james would use dark magic is if he were so enraged enough that he lost control over his body and reacted without thought, but it would take something very awful to reach that point, i.e. fatally wounding his family.
7. What memories would your muse be shown if they were in the presence of a Dementor, and what physical reaction would they have?
obviously, the memory of seeing his father’s dead body in his home comes to mind. as does the funeral, and ultimately the dealing with the public constantly questioning and reminding him of it in an attempt to get a ‘scoop’ out of james’ suffering forcing him to constantly relive his experience in short bursts out of nowhere. if you had asked a few years prior, however, it’d be much smaller things that seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things but were heartbreaking to james. he’d grown up very privileged. he had a large, loving family and was always provided for. the worst moments for him would be things like his first serious relationship coming to an end when he discovered she was cheating, when his pet rat died in his third year, the time he watched another curse-breaker get hit by a ricocheting counter-curse and reduced to a vegetable while they were deep underground in a tomb, or staying up late as a child waiting for his dad to get home and being constantly being terrified of someone coming to tell them that harry was gone once he was old enough to truly understand the implications of having an auror for a father.
if james ever encountered a dementor, the color would immediately drain from his face. he’d freeze, and although his dad taught him how to conjure a corporeal patronus, his hands would shake and his words would quiver which would make it very hard for his translucent eagle to have enough strength to ward off any more than a single dementor at a time ( if it was able to be summoned at all ). i imagine for the next few days he’d be miserable not only because he was unused to the feeling but also out of shock. he’d take a break from everything immediately after and would insist on spending time with his loved ones, knowing that if anyone could make him feel better, it would be them. thank god james has never had to face one, though.
3. Would your muse ever consider changing their stance about the war or switching sides? If so, what would push them to do so?
No. It goes too strongly against her moral code - she can’t see anything right in the opposite side, and Dom will not be pushed into going against her principles. (As of now, that is; it would be interesting to see what might happen under stress, but I stand by this answer in most cases.)
16. Who is the most important person in your muse’s life and why?
Is it cheating to just list family? It would honestly come down to her siblings, most likely. V has always been an important part of Dom’s life, and it’s especially important now that she’s been returned. In a similar way, Louis is immensely important to Dom, but more because she feels protective of him. While she would want to protect V if possible, she doesn’t feel the same protective instincts for her as for Louis.
22. Does your muse have any skeletons in their closets?
Not really. Dom doesn’t do enough things to lead to skeletons in her closet.
5. Which Deathly Hallow would appeal to your muse the most and why?
Harry has, at various points of his life, had possession of all three of the Hallows. Two he gave away willingly (stone and wand) and one he kept (cloak), so the answer would seem to be cloak. However, the only reason Harry dropped the stone in the forest that night was because he believed he was going to die. Truth be told, for many years after that, it was a constant struggle to not go back to search for it. He probably could never have found it - but there were so many dark nights he longed to try. To speak to his parents once more, really get to speak to them - he knows he’s gotten more than most orphans ever get, but those precious moments have always been about life or death. They’ve saved him, they’ve protected him, but he never got to just speak to them - about life, about Quidditch, about the way his mother curled her g’s, about Ron and Hermione, Ginny. About his children (though he probably wouldn’t have mentioned Albus’ middle name). There were also so many times he longed to bring Remus and Tonks to life for Teddy and he had to resist, knowing the truth of the stone - it did not bring back the real people, just shades. It was necessary to let the dead rest in order to live. That said, the old Harry would sympathise only too well with the Knights, with Lily, and what they all chose to do. It was a continuous battle of wills for him to resist doing something similar.
Now, strangely enough, Harry’s answer would probably be the Elder Wand. Perhaps it’s the phantom sense of his missing holly and phoenix wand, but he doesn’t like the replacement wand he’s been given. It doesn’t feel right - though maybe it’s just him who doesn’t feel right and the wand is easy to blame. But if he’s supposed to be a hero, if he’s supposed to save everyone, well - an Unbeatable Wand actually sounds pretty good right now. He doesn’t quite understand how his past self so easily gave it up.
6. What are your muse’s thoughts on the Dark Arts? Would they ever use such magic themselves for whatever reason, or have they already done so in the past?
(Answering for pre-death Harry). Harry has a long history with the Dark Arts. His personal opinion is that they should not be used. He is aware that some argue the Dark Arts are not instrinsically bad, but dependent on the way they are used - there is some merit to this argument. Overwhelmingly, however, he’s seen them used to inflict pain, suffering, and death. Use of the Dark Arts does not only harm the victim, it is damaging to the user, which Harry knows full well, having used Dark magic himself.
The first time - the Cruciatus Curse on Bellatrix Lestrange. If he is being entirely honest, even now, the only thing Harry truly regrets about this is that it didn’t work. Not only does he still grieve Sirius - it’s an old pain, one he’s come to terms with, but it still hurts and he still hates her fiercely whenever he thinks about it - but Bellatrix went on to kill Nymphadora Tonks. If he had injured her, taken her out, the Ministry could have re-arrested her. True, she probably would have escaped again, but with Harry’s penchant for guilt, he sometimes thinks Tonks could still be alive if he’d gotten Bellatrix.
Imperius - this he used to great effect during the war, notably during the raid of Gringotts. Again, Harry doesn’t especially regret this. It’s probably the closest he comes to agreeing with the argument that use of the Dark Arts depends on intent. But who decides that? He thinks he was right, that he did what was necessary - but so does every Dark wizard he’s ever arrested. He has never, in the time since then, used it again or any Dark magic. It is a horrible affront to take will away from a living being and of course, illegal.
Cruciatus, round two - it worked against Amycus Carrow. Harry knows he should regret this. It wasn’t in the heat of battle. He wasn’t defending himself. He wasn’t defending anyone else - Carrow spat in Professor McGonagall’s face, but he hadn’t actually hurt her. It was purely wrath, rage and the desire to inflict pain that drove this curse. That’s the part that worries Harry, more than feeling any real guilt over hurting Carrow. His anger. It’s dangerous. He knows he needs to watch it.
Overall, his experiences with dark magic are things he isn’t proud of - but the specific instances are not things he regrets either. The Imperius curse is the only one he chose to do rationally and calmly and it’s probably the one he would never do again. The other instances were all fuelled by emotion and Harry is aware that in a similar situation, he could do it again, and perhaps worse - it’s why he has worked so hard on controlling his temper all these years.
(The only use of dark magic - and the pain it inflicted - he can truly say he regrets is Sectumsempra on Draco Malfoy. It was Harry’s intention to hurt him - but never so badly. He indeed regrets that his recklessness, thoughtlessness and bitter grudge against Malfoy combined to make him act so rashly. He has, however, never really apologised for it, their relationship never being an easy one.)
7. What memories would your muse be shown if they were in the presence of a Dementor, and what physical reaction would they have?
(Answering for pre-death Harry). Harry had a lot of bad memories after the war. He was also heavily involved in getting the Dementors out of Azkaban and away from the wizarding population, as Voldemort had in fact encouraged them to spread and target wizarding villages. It was not a good combination for him, especially since he was already in quite a bad mental place, but he was determined to do his part. He knew he was susceptible to the Dementors but stubbornly determined on not letting that weakness affect his job - it wasn’t as if other people had it easy either.
Memory wise, he never stopped reliving the memory of his parents’ death. He had heard and/or seen it so many times that it was etched into his mind permanently, but it never changed the sharpness of the wound. Additionally, the sight of Sirius Black falling back into the Veil was always one of the most painful things they could show him.
The war gave him new terrible memories, as did its aftermath. Hearing Hermione scream, all he could hear. Looking down to see Ron’s hands, near bloodied to the bone from where he beat them against the stone wall that imprisoned them. Knowing Hermione was there because of him, Harry, that they were torturing her because of him, and he couldn’t get to her. Ron beginning to scream Hermione’s name and Harry knowing Ron’s spirit would break if he had to listen to a moment more of it. Their Hermione might already be gone and he knew either loss would destroy him.
And then later, Teddy. Crying, their hair flickering between bright pink, dull grey-streaked brown and finally a messy black that reminded Harry distinctly of his own. His knees would hurt from the phantom sensation of kneeling on the floor beside them. He had to explain to Teddy why they didn’t have parents as other children did. He had to tell Teddy about the bodies lying on the Great Hall that day, where they would go to school in just a few short years. He had to tell Teddy that if Harry had been smarter, made a better plan, they would still have parents. Harry was afraid that their hair would never change to black again, not after he admitted this, but worse still was how every sob the child uttered was so terribly loud and he couldn’t make them stop.
With all this to fight, Harry very much needed to conjure a strong Patronus to keep the Dementors away. He was now less likely to pass out, considering his experience with them, but he often returned home shaky and ill. Retaining his starkly independent nature, Harry usually preferred to deal with this alone, as he did so often when he felt low and depressed in those days (and even later). A lot of people tried to encourage him to talk, but Harry rarely wanted to. Ginny understood this, and let him deal with things his own way for the most part. These were often the times he ended up going quietly in search of her, just to lie down together, her knowing that these were the moments he really needed her most. The same applied to other periods in his life, when he was having difficult times with work, feeling the terrible weight of responsibility or affected by the darkness he often saw - it was to Ginny he could really be vulnerable and receive comfort. When it came to their children, he certainly tried to hide it as much as possible, not wanting them to see him at a low point.

3. Would your muse ever consider changing their stance about the war or switching sides? If so, what would push them to do so?
Persephone never wanted to be ‘neutral’ in a war that threatens the lives of millions. When she joined the Knights, it was to make a difference, to make a statement and to fight for what she believed in. Everything that led up to her defecting was never supposed to happen — no one was supposed to die, especially not one of the kindest people Persephone had ever met, her own Headmaster. She went numb when the Knights split and their consequent decision to split their souls was something she went along with when she felt she had no control. She has left that behind because she doesn’t believe it’s the right way to approach a war that was already violent in the first place. But now, she’s not sure what to do. She knows she doesn’t want to lie in neutrality forever, it’s not right, but she doesn’t believe she can fit in with the Erinyes until she has split herself from her daemon — a task which is not as simple as it sounds.
17. Who is your muse’s worst enemy and why?
Persephone would never admit it, but I think this is the truth — her worst enemy is herself. Or perhaps, if you look at it through another lens, her worst enemies are her parents. You see, it is Persephone’s intense desire to please her parents, to make them proud and to live up to the legacy that she has created for them in her head, that almost always ends up in her faltering. Persephone is very intelligent and thinks through every decision she makes from an incredibly logical point of view, whilst still being able to take emotions into account, but sometimes the decision she thinks is right and the decision she thinks will make her parents the proudest don’t always align. But the latter will always win. She’s at a war with herself because of this, and it’s led her down more than one path that she doesn’t 100% believe in.
29. If your muse was a muggle, what would your character’s life be like?
Persephone’s life would feel peace if she were a muggle. Her mother would’ve had a much smaller impact on the world, they would just be like any other family living peacefully in Ireland. Her parents would still suffer the same fate, but it wouldn’t weigh as heavily on Persephone’s shoulders — she’d grieve like anyone grieves a parent, but she wouldn’t feel that same desire she feels now to have to live up to the legacy she’s created in her head. She would be quieter, more reserved than she is even now. There’s nothing to fight for, and therefore nothing for her to feel pressed about. She’d be an artist. Maybe she might not be entirely happy, but she’d be safe. She wouldn’t be nearly as intelligent. Nearly as destroyed.
