I have a love hate relationship with Cell biology, it’s beautiful yet frustrating! And It’s freezing here, with the wind and freezing water pouring from the skies 🌧️

Gosh this really scared me, can you tell me why it went terrible? I want to really be prepared
I wasn’t use to the amount of information that they were giving us in such a small period of time. I stuck to my old study techniques (basically copying down powerpoints) that worked brilliantly in college and undergrad. That’s no good for second and third order questions. Also, I had so many paper notes that I felt like I was drowning in them and didn’t know where to begin when it was time to review. So, I went to one of the educational specialist and she helped me to figure out a better plan. I do have an Ipad pro now, which helps keeping everything organized. I use Notability. First, I overview the PowerPoints before lecture. Then write up as many notes as I can from memory after the lecture, using the lecture only to fill in gaps in my memory. After my post study, I start doing questions that require me to do more than just recall the information, to apply it to clinical situations that they provide us with. I still need to do some tweaking, possibly adding in some flashcards for the things that do just require rote memorization. Hope this helps and good luck in your medical education!
