A few weeks later

Cassie: Theodore, sweetheart I have a favor to ask of you!

Theo: Y-yeah? What’s up?

Cassie: I met a very nice young lady who’s looking for another member to join her band! I think it would be a wonderful opportunity for you! You could make some new friends and maybe it’ll help you come back out of your shell!

Theo: Thanks grandma, but I don’t know... I’m not very good at the piano or the guitar...

Cassie: Who cares, there’s no harm in trying. I’ll drive you over in the morning my dear!

Theo: Grandma-

*phone ringing*

“HI it’s Raylee! Sorry I can’t answer the phone right now, but if you leave a message I’ll get back to you asap!”

*beep*

Cassie: I was about your age when I moved to San Myshuno. I was a young girl with big dreams. Thought I could make it in the music industry. I lived with my best friend, Monica. Those were some of the best days of my life. I was doing pretty well, moved up in my career, kept growing closer to my goal.

Cassie: But then, I met your grandfather. I didn’t love him at first, thought he was cute, but nothing more. It wasn’t soon after that my parents both died. I felt more pain then I ever thought imaginable. I lashed out and made a few drunken mistakes, one night I stumbled over to your grandfather’s apartment and not too soon after I was pregnant. I was terrified, didn’t know what to do. I had to stop working on my career, and stop working towards my goals. I don’t regret bringing your aunt Mina into the world, never even for a second. It was just to soon. I did fall in love with Alexander, but not on my own I suppose. I’ve always wondered if that’s why he cheated. I was so angry at the time, but now I don’t blame him. We both became parents way too soon. We weren’t even together for a year before we had Mina. I do love him, I really do, we’ve worked through it all.

Theo: I had no idea. Grandma I’m-

Cassie: Don’t, there’s nothing to be sorry for. I enjoyed my life. What I’m trying to say Theodore.... what I’m trying to say is don’t make the same mistake I did. I know how much it hurts to love someone so much and then lose them in an instant. I think you need something to funnel your grief into, something to vent with. I want you to try songwriting. Maybe even preforming. I think you need something to channel your anger and loss into. I love you Theodore. I want you to live a bright and beautiful life. 

Theo: Oh my god! It’s you! Your! You’re back! You’re alive!

Lucy: Jeez calm down! I don’t think you’ve ever been this happy to see me. 

Theo: I missed you. I missed my twin. I missed my sister.

Lucy: I missed you too, Theodork. Wanna know what it’s like to be in a coma? I bet you do you asshat.

Cassie: Theo! My sweet boy! Come, have a seat!

Theo: At the piano?

Cassie: Yes, dear. I’m going to teach you a thing or two. Your mother never really liked the arts and I’m not going to let the tradition die. You know your great-grandmother was a famous painter, right?

Theo: Yes, grandma. I know about her.

Cassie: And I wanted to be a famous musician but I never quite made it. Things got in the way. I want you to do great things Theo. I’m going to teach you a couple keys while I tell you a story. Come on, humor this old woman!

Rory: Theo! Where on earth have you been? You’ve been gone all night! 

Theo: It’s fine dad, I just got busy.

Rory: You got busy?! Too busy to come with us to get your sister for the hospital? It’s been nearly two months Theo! Your sister has been asleep for two months and you weren’t even there when she woke up last week! You weren’t even there to bring her home when she woke up! I can’t believe you! You’re out of control! You smell like booze! I’ve tried being patient with you Theo! I’ve tried helping you through this!

Theo: Lucy- shit.

Rory: Excuse me? Young man you do not use that language in my house!
