In the early 1860s, as the shadow of the Civil War looms, an aging mountain man named Francis Thibodeaux roams the high country of Montana, near what we now know as the Bighorn Canyon. At 75, this may be his final roundup—but the land is still wild, unforgiving, and alive with danger.

The region belongs to the Crow Nation, where nomadic tribes follow the thunder of buffalo herds across open plains. Two determined Crow warriors, Tosa and Bachee, are tasked by their Chief to quietly shadow Francis. What begins as a routine mission soon turns into something far more complex, forcing difficult choices that will test loyalty, courage, and survival.

Alongside Francis are his steadfast companions: 🐴 Trickster, his loyal horse 🐮 Buttercup, the mule who has shared every hardship
