Moomin Bakery & Cafe
Do you ever feel lonely when dining by yourself and would love a friendly face sitting across from you while you sip on your coffee?
Located in Tokyo, Japan, The Moomin Bakery & Cafe is the most popular themed cafe in the whole of Tokyo! This is all because customers can dine with Moomin soft toys that keep them company!
Visiting The Moomin Bakery & Cafe will make you feel as if you’ve just stepped into the illustrated books, as the walls are decorated with Moomin murals and green plants.
If that’s not enough to make you want to hop on the next train to Tokyo, The Moomin Bakery & Cafe also offers a menu filled with Moomin-themed sweets!
You know where I’ll be…
Shingeki x Cookpad Studio
The other recent collaboration cafe event in Osaka was held by Cookpad Studio. It was held from November 7th through November 30th of 2019. In addition to the collaboration menu you could receive acrylic keychains with each food item ordered.
When making our reservation online we had to order our dishes in advance as well so everything except the drinks we had already decided in advance. We ended up ordering one of everything.
The drinks available were a latte themed to the scene where they visit the ocean, a tea to represent Levi’s tea time with rose syrup in a syringe and a yuzu and lemon jelly squash to represent Annie in her crystal.
I really like how the menu items were well thought out. The boulder from Trost made as a croquet was really creative and the meringue to represent the hardening too. What’s great is that you could actually get the recipes for these since Cookpad was actually created as an app/website to exchange recipes.
Another nice point was the was a video showing of how to make the beast titan tiramisu!
Chestnut creme tiramisu
Pear millfeuille🍐
Lemon scented gateau chocolat
You could receive one of these with each food item ordered✨
We went to the Kawaii Monster Cafe, and entertainment was so cute!!!

Shingeki Cafe at Hirakata Park
There was a time when I thought to myself, “If only I could have the chance to go to an Attack on Titan themed cafe...” Those days are long over.😅 over the past couple of years we have had the chance to eat many versions of that final dinner, to push fluids out of syringes and attempted to conquer titan sized desserts. All while collecting many many character coasters. Hirakata Park of course also had it’s own themed cafe which was announced just before the exhibit opened. (Yes, there are coasters too...)
The food itself is maybe the worst we have had at a themed cafe. The most edible probably would be the massive snack plate which we didn’t order because it was basically mostly fries. At least there were characters on the food which is at least fun for photos.😅
Surprisingly even the “pancakes” (closer to a chiffon cake) were pretty bad. They were a bit dry and some part of the filling had my son making a grossed out face. He told me to try and I politely declined.
The drinks were all fine though! Also you get the coaster design based on the drink which is always nice!✨
One great point of the cafe is that they have the cut outs from the 10th anniversary exhibit so you can take fun photos while you are there!
Tower Records Cafe x Attack on Titan ~Look Back at the Past~ Wall Omotesando
Countdown to Shingeki no Kyojin Exhibition: Final continues as we look at the Tower Records Cafe ~Look Back at the Past~ Wall Omotesando event being held to promote it. The limited time cafe will run from June 21st until July 9th. The event is divided into two parts with different cards being given out at both halves of the event that you can collect.
We went on the second day of the event on a rainy day. The cafe times are set in advance so you do not need to arrive early. If you do arrive early there will be a queue outside starting at the lamppost across from the cafe. Tickets must be bought in advance for 2,400¥ (group 1~2) or 4,800¥ (group of 1~4). You will receive a 2,000¥ voucher or 4,000¥ voucher depending on the ticket you buy. We wanted to get both the CDs so we bought the 4,800¥ voucher even though it was just the two of us this time.
The theme of this cafe is a study room to study past exhibit items and to read the Shingeki comics to get up to speed for the new exhibit. You can also pay to do the VR experience that was available at the first exhibit and was also available to do at the Fuji Q Highland event last year.
It was also decorated with all the manga covers and selected panels as well as a video of different manga moments playing.
Tomorrow we will take a look at the food and what items you could bring home!✨
