Jokes aside why are there even halflings in Warhammer Fantasy? They have no lore beyoind "short like dwarfs, good cooks, good slingers, besties with ogres", no named characters, no meaningful impact in the overarching story, not even a goddam token unit in the WFB wargame. Was GW copying Tolkien/D&D so much that they threw them in for no other reason that they too have halflings or what?
Actually, they do have lore!
Back when the Old Ones were making races, right, things got a bit time-crunchy at the end, when Chaos showed up to eat them or fuck them or fuck and eat them or whatever, they sort of panic threw out two races, based loosely on the human genome, that would be intrinsically resistant to chaos mutation. Of course, the two races (halflings and ogres) weren’t finished, and then the Old Ones got murderfucked before they could perfect them, and it shows. Ogres, as you know, are incredibly greedy, gluttonous people, and halflings are amazingly horny and prone to engaging in illegal/hedonistic activity.
Halflings are very, very good cooks, and produce what is widely regarded as the finest tobacco and cuisine in the Empire, if not the wider world, and run a booming international tobacco trade. They’re also horny little bastards, and WILL try to hit on and bang anything they fancy.
Dark Elf Witch? Kroxigor? Khorne Champion? Halfling fears nothing.
I can’t say for sure there’s a halfling that would proposition Archaon, but I also can’t say there’s one that wouldn’t.
So yeah. Halflings.
