Mermaid sisters journey out of the water and join a cabaret — one seeking love, the other an opportunity of feed on human hearts. This is such a weird mix of fairytale, horror, and musical. I mean, I like it, but it also slips into that nonsensicality musicals sometimes offer so there were points where I didn’t fully know what was going on. Horribly sad story about mermaid women longing to live with a human male. Template cerita sedih ini mudah ditemukan di literatur kanak-kanak berjudul The Little Mermaid -FYI, film ini lebih sedih sih. Impian sang wanita duyung keburu ambyar karena pria impiannya menambatkan hatinya ke manusia yang sebenarnya. Kaya akan adegan-adegan musikal yang terkesan memaksa. Niatnya mungkin memperkaya formula cerita banal ini, namun agaknya gagal -seenggaknya bagi saya, karena saya bosen banget nonton adegan musikalnya: terlalu ramai, warna-warni yang norak. Singkatnya, film ini membosankan.
