GreedFall #16 The Demon Village movie lore / Le village du démon Eng : Continuation of my GreedFall videos that I filmed in september 2019 when the game was released and started to put online in september & october. De Sardet, Petrus and Siora are on a mission on a request from the Mother Cardinal of Theleme, concerning a possible demonic entity that could be venerated by one of the native clans, here the clan of Derdre.

Just about everything that happens to the main Continental factions (Nauts, Coin Guard, Theleme, and Bridge) during the game is shown to you in the prologue.Â
Nauts: Prologue: Jonas gets kidnapped by a member of the Congregation. Main Game: Nauts get kidnapped by Coin Guard (seizing the ship, but it still counts), Theleme, and Bridge during the different quests.Â
Theleme: Prologue: They want you to find and turn over the heretics who are really just historians who found something that went against canon. Main Game: You help theologians discover things that went against canon and have to decide if this gets turned over or not.Â
Bridge: Prologue The man first gives out a fake panacea and then you learn he is running because he spoke out against experimenting on prisoners. Main Game: They send you on a wild goose chase for a panacea and then you have to stop an evil bastard from experimenting on prisoners.Â
Coin Guard: Prologue: You have to smuggle things for the Coin Guard. Main Game: There is a criminal organization inside the guard that smuggles slaves and alcohol and you have to stop it. (this is a little more of a stretch because your smuggling in the beginning is actually somewhat related to this).
It is pretty impressive how they got almost every main plot idea into the prologue missions.Â
GreedFall FR #2 Meeting with Vasco of the Nauts and the Theleme faction (history of departure zone, lore, movie) / Rencontre avec Vasco des Nauts et la faction Thélème Sardet meets Cardinal Antonius, ambassador of the Theleme faction, a religious nation. He entrusts her with a mission to find heretics who have taken refuge in the city (this mission is in video # 3). She then assists Kurt in his merchandise recovery mission for the guard intendant (6:01). Meeting with Captain Vasco of the Nauts faction (11:32). De Sardet will help him by investigating to find a cabin boy of his crew who disappeared (18:22). De Sardet found the trace of the cabin boy (29:36) and Mr de Courcillon (30:43) explain the operation of contracts of the Nauts faction, which can include children as a bargaining chip and their political consequences ( 29:36). Jonah is delivered and can return with his crew (33:55). FR : De Sardet rencontre le Cardinal Antonius, ambassadeur de la faction Thélème, une nation religieuse. Il lui confie une mission de retrouver des hérétiques qui se sont réfugiés dans la ville (cette mission est dans la vidéo #3). Elle aide ensuite Kurt pour sa mission de récupération de marchandises pour l'intendant de la Garde (6:01). Rencontre avec le capitaine Vasco de la faction Nauts (11:32). De Sardet va l'aider en enquêtant pour retrouver un mousse de son équipage qui à disparu (18:22). De Sardet à retrouvé la trace du mousse de Vasco (29:36) et Mr de Courcillon (30:43) expliquent le fonctionnement des contrats de la faction Nauts, qui peuvent inclure des enfants comme monnaie d'échange commercial et leur conséquences politiques (29:36). Jonas le mousse est délivré et peut retourner avec son équipage (33:55).
A choice
If you had to choose between saving San Matheus or Hikmet, which would you choose?
(Or when you chose between them, which did you save?)
I chose to complete that playthrough with San Matheus being saved. Game-wise b/c their side quests lead to weapons I like. Story-wise b/c even though the Inquisitors went after the Nauts and the “Mind Shakers” kept antagonizing the Natives, the Alliance causes most of the problems in the story. Even though their actions accelerate De Sardet’s search for a cure, without them the final choice at the end wouldn’t be necessary.
Should’ve known how bad they’d be when Vasco called them “conniving, piss-distilling, Bridge-building liars”
