Calron Moments #1
Honestly, Callum Hunt, despite everything, was terrified of Aaron.
Yes, pretty goody-two-shoes Aaron Stewart.
Maybe it was the constant fear that Aaron would one day wake up suddenly realizing Call was a some sort of monster and push him away. It was that bugging thought slowly eating off Call’s soul everyday as he simply watched Aaron with his perfect eyes and perfect smile.
Heck, Call was so sure that one faithful day would come.
But then again-
He’s been wrong before. ________________
“Hey, wake up Call.”
“Hi, hey, what, now, who?”
Aaron smiled at his counterweight’s slightly gaped mouth and sleepy grey eyes.
“We’re here.”
“Yeah, sure dad that’s great. Pizza’s good.”
Call simply shifted his head to his other shoulder and began to drift back to sleep. Aaron nudged him gently but he didn’t budge.
Aaron could have sworn he heard a little boy’s voice say, “Mommy, when I grow up, will I ever love someone like that?”
He didn’t need to turn to know that the child seated behind them had been pointing to him and Call. He also most certainly did not need to let the boy see his bright red face.
“Call, wake up quick. The bus won’t wait for us to get off forever.”
After much persuasion from Aaron (and a few threats from an impatient Tamara), Call did get off the bus.
Well, not gracefully at least.
On the last step of the bus, Call lost his balance on his bad leg causing his entire body to fall forward.
Aaron’s arm grab his chest just in time and the blonde was almost so sure that he felt Call’s heart jump a little faster.
“I’m fine.”
Jasper snorted at that.
“If this is what happens when you get tulip extract and pure milk, I can’t even imagine what you would be like if you’ve gotten alcohol and shots.”
“Jasper, back off. Call pretty much just drunk an entire vial of sleeping potion. You wouldn’t be much better either.”
Tamara defended Call and so far she had done a decent job until Call burped.
“Woah, okay buddy, we’re almost there.”
Aaron steadied Callum carefully and took the keys out of his pocket. His god aunt was out for the week but had entrusted him with the apartment.
Departing with Tamara and Jasper, Aaron slung Callum’s arm over his neck and supported him ( more like dragged ) up the stairs.
He hardly even opened the door properly before Call slid off onto Aaron’s bed.
“Thanks.”
Call’s face was buried in Aaron’s pillow but secretly, Aaron found it cute.
“No problem. You shouldn’t have taken that stupid dare, Call. Gosh. Go to sleep.”
Flickering off the lights, Aaron was halfway out the door.
“Don’t.”
“Uhmm?”
He turned around to see Call curled up into a small ball in his bed.
“Don’t leave me.”
It was an odd request but Aaron obliged.
Happily.
He obliged happily.
He sank down into one of the small red sofa at the corner of the room attempting to get some rest to.
“Stay here.”
Call’s voice was hardly clear but Aaron had a hold of it.
“I’m here.”
“No, I mean here.”
Call tapped the side of the bed slowly, as if his arms were a tonne each.
Confused but definitely not reluctant, Aaron sat at the very edge of the bed cautiously afraid to startle Call.
“Promise to stay.”
Call looked up at Aaron, ears red, eyes barely opened with actual smile on his face.
He did look drunk.
“Okay.”
Aaron replied quietly.
“Are you scared of me, Aaron?”
“No.”
Call gave him that smile again.
“Tamara wins?”
Aaron couldn’t quite put the pieces together and scrunched his eyebrows.
“Tamara,” Call hiccuped,“she made a bet saying if I drank that potion, you’d take care of me. I said you obviously would because you’re Nice Aaron. She says it’s because you care about me. A lot. A lot more than I think. So Tamara wins?”
Aaron felt safe admitting it now since Call wouldn’t even remember it in the morning which gave Aaron a small pang in his chest but nether the less a sense of security.
“Tamara wins,“he whispered. _______________
