McVadi in A Starry Night

Cassie Mckay and Victoria Javadi have just finished another fifteen hour shift - their third this week. Watching the fireworks from the rooftop - surround by their colleagues, their friends, some of them even family at this point - the air is heavy with grief. They had lost a lot today, but no one would forget a long time the smiles Louis bought to the ED, or the love they had witnessed within Roxie’s family. They would all take a piece of today with them into the future.
As Victoria stood there in Cassie’s arms, for the first time all day she thought things might be okay. As Cassie held Victoria tight to her chest, for the first time all day she felt hope that tomorrow may be lighter.
Tomorrow morning would come and they would be back in the ED, facing the failings of the system and the most human parts of society. They would be tired and frustrated and angry and sad, but they also knew there would be laughter and light. Cassie and Victoria have life, and they have love, and they are going to be okay.
