DID I HEAR VALENTINES DAY???? Could I get a rohan with a female s/o and they’re celebrating their first valentines together as a couple so Rohan tries his best to show off how much she means to him? Thank you so much!!
That you did my dear! I hope you like it!
Rohan is not a huge fan of the obnoxiously colored and overblown holiday, but he tries his best to wrap his head around it for your sake. This is the first year he’s actually had someone to buy gifts for and although the sensation is new, it’s not entirely negative - he is a little excited to see your reaction to his gifts. You on the other hand have no idea what to expect from the typically cynical man. You’re aware of the fact that he’s not enthused by the idea of most holidays and you don’t really expect him to do anything, after all you guys are pretty aware of each others feelings - do you really need to make grand gestures for a specific day? You’re testing out these ideas in your mind, preparing for the reality of the situation, but you can’t deny that deep inside you’re hoping he does something.
When you get a text to head over to his house, part of you is hopeful that this means he’s had a change of heart, but the logical side of you insists that he texts you to come see him most days - what makes today special? By the time you arrive at his doorstep, these two sides are warring with each other: one hoping for romance, the other trying to minimize the fallout of being let down. When Rohan opens the door in an apron, you give him an inquisitive look. “What’s this, huh?” you tease, stepping inside while you tug at the apron. “Oh, this? Nothing. I was just finishing up in the kitchen, come along,” he responds, taking your hand and dragging you along. Rohan, cooking? The romantic part of you is practically singing in victory at the mere image of him in that apron.
Your eyes widen as he leads you into his dining room, the blinds drawn tight, the lights dimmed and in the center lies the dining room table with a flower vase in the center, surrounded by candles. “Rohan!” you cry out, trying to hold back your tears of happiness. You’re aware of a grin tugging at the corners of his lips and you quickly gather yourself, taking the seat he pulls out for you. “Wait here, I’ll bring you something to drink,” he murmurs, leaving a kiss on the top of your head. You reach out to lift one of the roses and smell it, smiling softly at all of the effort he’s put in. When he returns with a glass of water you take it appreciatively. “I didn’t even know you could cook,” you mention, meeting his eyes and savoring the flustered reaction your comment gets from him. “I, uh, I’ve been taking classes so I could surprise you. Nothing fancy, just a salad, pasta, and a desert,” he brushes off. “That’s so sweet, hon,” you praise, standing to hug up to him. He happily reciprocates the affection, pulling away to reveal a card and a box of chocolates. “The roses are for you too,” he says, nervously chewing his lip.
“Thank you so much, this is… amazing,” you breathe, still not over how beautifully set up the table looks and the way the lights from the candles dance in his eyes. “I’m glad you like it, I know I’m bad at this type of stuff, but I want to do better for you, because I really love you,” he manages, rubbing at the back of his neck. You nearly squeal - take that logical, pessimistic side! You throw your arms around his neck, pressing a big kiss to his mouth. He lets out a laugh, pulling away to caress your cheek and gaze at you. “I love you too, Mr. Romance,” you tease, giving him a sly smile. “Okay, don’t call me that,” he sighs, letting out another chuckle before returning to the kitchen to grab the salad. You’re giddy from the exchange, still in awe that your cynical boyfriend managed to put together such a romantic night for the two of you. You’re still freaking out internally when he returns. “Salad, madame?” he asks teasingly and you giggle before nodding. You’d never thought you could get this lucky.
