• NAWFSIDE 4LIFE • For at least 10 yrs now people have called me by my stage name Vgo. A name that was given to me by a slick talkin pimp how in a time when I was going thru a name change from my early rap name as VanGo (in which I wasn’t comfortable being called lol). So when “Vgo” was coined I ran with it because it had a ring to it and the GO represented my love for my hometown which is Chicago. I went on to put out several projects and have been blessed to get features and placements under the stage name “Vgo”. But the recent and unfortunate murder of my older brother lead me through many emotions and realities. One reality was that even though I was born in Chicago, a lot of my ways of being and important lessons I learned came from my childhood growing up on the Northside of St. Louis, Mo...or as we call it “Da Nawfside!” I grew up in one of the murder capitols of the world, amongst real gangsters, real hustlers, real killers, real pimps, real players, real scamers, hella bloods, a few crips, and so much more craziness! But regardless...this is life and the things that made me! The reality of my brother being killed right on the block that we grew up on really made me look in the mirror at my life. And throughout my life one name that has always been is my government name...ORLANDO! But most people in my family, in my hood or in school just simply called me “Lando”. So to the supporters who have rocked with “Vgo” all these years but that name is dead. It died when my brother died! 🙏🏽 But it rebirth a real legend in a name that actually isnt new at all b/c...ITS ACTUALLY MY NAME!!!! 🤦🏽‍♂️😂 So with no further due I officially announce that my name is “NAWFSIDE LANDO!!!!!!!” Get used to this!!!
