3, 13, and 20 for annie and 6, 16, and 41 for finnick for this ask game!!
another obscure one…I think Annie has. is it a relationship? a type of relationship. with her nails. she bites her nails when she’s stressed but she hates having short nails, so it’s this constant vicious cycle of her trying not to bite her nails which stresses her out more, then caving and doing it and being unhappy with how they look until they grow back. but she’s a little obsessive about them, she doesn’t have the energy to care about her appearance a lot of the time but she does care about her nails, to the point where I’ve written a loadbearing nail filing scene SKCJFJFJFJ
13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done
fun fact! I’ve written a fic about this. when Annie was sixteen, she went with two of her friends out to an island and then lost the skiff key, so she hotwired the boat so they could get back. the part that makes it the dumbest thing she’s ever done is they didn’t actually check the blanket they were sitting on for the key until after she’d already hotwired it. you can read the fic here
depends on when we’re talking…I hc that she got all her scars erased post Games, then she ends up getting new ones over time and in the Capitol. but she tends to get scars on her hands because she does a lot with them and likes knives, and while she’s careful and good with them there’s always still the possibility for nicks that turn into scars.
6. Worst personality trait
I mean I think Finnick’s worst personality trait (and in no small part it’s because we share this and it’s absolutely one of my worst traits, I know how destructive it is) is that he doesn’t trust anyone to do something for him. he cannot delegate. he has to be the one who does things if he wants them done right, and how that manifests is since he’s interpreting that as he needs to do things alone, he makes decisions for other people and keeps things back that he shouldn’t because he doesn’t trust them to support him with whatever he’s doing. it translates very easily into overprotectiveness and condescension as well.
16. Deepest darkest secret they won’t even admit to themselves
I think Finnick has to contend with a lot of shame in his life in general, not just because of the trafficking but because of how he’s most likely perceived in Four, and as a result there’s a lot of things he doesn’t admit to himself and tries to shove down. a lot of his secrets are incredibly ugly and things I will not post in a public forum because this website is allergic to nuance and also understanding the complexities of prolongued sexual abuse.
so one that is a little less likely to get me harassed but no less deep and dark is that he has, exactly once and only once, sedated Annie when she didn’t technically need it and could’ve calmed herself down. but he couldn’t handle her in that minute and just wanted her to stop, so he sedated her instead. she has no idea and he doesn’t sleep because of this for weeks
41. If they could have lunch with anyone in the world (living or dead, from any fictional universe or the real world), who would it be?
ongreenergrasses headcanon time…I hc that he has three older sisters and one younger sister, and that his oldest sister went through Career training but wasn’t the volunteer. I also hc that she ended up going back to fishing and ended up getting lost at sea with the entire crew of the boat she was working on. whether it was a legitimate accident or not, Finnick thinks it’s because of something he did and blames himself for it. he was also the closest to her out of any of his sisters and losing her really ruptured basically the last close connection he had with his immediate family.
anyway this is all to say he’d like to have one last lunch with his oldest sister.
