Reaver mourning over a dead Logan
How long had it been? A few weeks? A few months? Honestly, Reaver no longer remembered. It was always so difficult to keep track of time when you had an infinite amount to spend. A day felt like a few hours, a week was like a day, and so on. People died around him all the time, one right after the other. That was common for those who lived forever, and if he had heart, if he coul truly feel the emotions that most felt when being faced with death. But he had no humanity, no soul, and so when he was confronted with death, he felt nothing.
When word got back to Reaver that Logan had been killed, Reaver was lounging in his office, glass of wine in hand. He didn’t flinch, and he barely even batted any eye. But what why would he? Reaver never cared about him. He never felt anything for him. Instead, when word of the other’s passing had left the messanger’s lips, all the Duke did was refill his glass of wine.
“Oh no– How horrible.”
Taking a sip from his chalice, Reaver merely adjusted his position before picking up his newspaper with his one free hand.
“Truly a tragedy. I’m not sure how I’ll ever be able to cope.”
