The Time Alice Theodora Moran Died, Once And For All
It wasn't supposed to happen. Â none of it. Â Alice had been visiting Jed in the hospital, and he'd ended up prolonging her talk with him. Â She had to get home in rush hour. Â Cold winds blew the woman's ebony hair all in her face. Cars raced past her, lights shining on the rain. Â Those rainy, wet, slippery streets. Â Alice slipped, everything moving in slow motion as her head hit the asphalt. Her life flashed before her eyes.
"I'll be home soon baby girl, soon."
"Well Sebastianâs a @#!*% for keepinâ me a secret - met you once though, when you were a little wrinkly thing. Wouldnât stop bawlinâ - I was surprised âBassy didnât toss you out the window he never had much patience, sâpose youâre different though."Â
âyou refer to your father as Jim, interestingâ she hummed leaning forward âwhat is your relationship like?â She asked curiously.
âAttempting to reclaim my name. Â Caring is a disadvantage. When you care, you have liabilities. Itâs better to have none.â
"Not very lively is it?"
"Not in this part of town, no."
You spank people often enough that itâs a habit?" Bloody good habit, if you ask me. No one did. And yet you agree. ⌠Shush. "I wasnât wondering, mostly because I saw you drink enough to knock most girls your size on their @#!*% ."
âIt must come in handyâ. She replied, her free hand tracing Cassandraâs jawline
"It does, believe meâŚ"
"iâll take you up on that offer"
âWell Iâm glad you think so.â She said with a small laugh leaving her lips. âI donât see it, but thank you.â
"I just had to."
"Thanks, suicide boy."
And the tires passed over her, crushing her completely. Â Almost no one would mourn her, although a small handful would.
This was truly the death of Alice Theodora Moran.
