Oh man, I was so ready to just immediately delete this message, 'cause all I've been getting in my inbox lately have been those stupid spambots that somehow managed to get media through my filters, but then it was this, and now I'm happy I actually stopped to read it.

Suddenly the aching in his feet wasn’t so bad and the weariness that had been weighing him down all day seemed lighter with Arthur there to hold him up. He sank helplessly into Arthur’s arms like he had so wanted to earlier and and let Arthur spin him slowly ‘round and ‘round. (From Round and Round, 2 / 2) -- Sorry, I know it's a bit longer! This whole passage was just so sweet.

that was pretty much my entire thought process ^

this fic was written for the non-sexual intimacy prompt meme that i did that one time, when i wrote 4 fics in a day because i craved that particular mineral. there’s just something extremely sweet and satisfying about this kind of scenario, where there’s nothing but the two of them, and that’s ENOUGH.

who needs music when they have you, my love? who could need anything when you are here? you’re the world - what else is there?

and you know that Arthur’s been looking forward to this exact moment all night. he can schmooze nobles with the best of them, and he’s long since accepted that that’s his lot in life and he’s gonna have to do it frequently for the rest of his life. but knowing that he gets to come back to Merlin, and to moments like this, is what gets him through it.

Merlin may sometimes need a reminder that he’s everything to Arthur, but Arthur never forgets.
