"That's not a mirror"
You slam your fists against the glass. Yelling doesn't get you anywhere. This scene in front of you has been played out so many times, in so many different ways.
You've never seen this though.
It played out how it should have at first, you taunting the host. Him fighting back, his partner standing there and Teddie making whatever noises he made. Everything had been normal, he should have transformed and Souji would fight him and everything would be fine. Everything would go back to normal and Yosuke would have a persona. Whether or not that persona would end up the way you are is a different story. You'd seen that play out differently as well.
But this. This was all wrong.
Souji was knocked out, his head hit the glass doors of the refrigerators where you were watching. You yell at him to get up. There's not point, it's not like he can hear you. You're just an observer in this alternate dimension.
The monster turns on his host. He can't do anything, he's out cold and Teddie is long gone.
"Get up!" You shout as loud as you can, which isn't loud enough to penetrate the cold and the glass. "Get up you're going to die! Wake up!" It's useless, you can't change the course of events as much as you tried.
His mouth opens, the slits in his face ripping apart to reveal row after row of sharp teeth, dripping with drool in anticipation. A long tongue runs over his lips. You shudder, and push as hard as you can on the glass doors. You have to get out, you have to do something.
He picks Yosuke up by the back of his shirt. He's so small in comparison, you feel even smaller. You can't even stop yourself, how pathetic were you?
Yosuke's legs dangle just above the sea of teeth, for a moment it's like he won't do it, won't give in to the temptation.
What a joke.
He drops, only to be caught by razors. In that instant, you can see him open his eyes, and the scream is almost inhuman. It doesn't last long, you can barely see it, but you think you see blood dripping to the floor from your - his, his mouth.
Yosuke's gone now, lost to the almost endless sea of teeth that counted as a mouth. He approaches Souji now, the blood from his latest meal trailing behind him.
"You have to wake up, you have - "
There's a sickening squelch as a gloved hand descends on him. Blood splatters across the glass, and what's left of Souji is now just mangled remains of someone that you used to know.
You're stunned, what happens now? You can't even do anything to begin with they can't see you.
You can't -
--
He presses his hand to the glass, and watches as his copy fades. His eyes go from bright and yellow, to dull and lifeless. He can't do anything without his host, how useless is that?
"Looks like you're never going to be complete, huh? Loser." He watches him crumple, face pressed up against the glass and body going limp. Stepping closer, he doesn't bother to care that he just stepped in the intestines of his late best friend.
"Now watch me be better."
