I’ve read this post before, and personally, I don’t find the same issues with allosexual that have been listed. The whole accidental french cognate thing is, well, accidental, and we haven’t heard of any french speakers actually taking issue with it. It’s also going to be a tough sell to switch the terminology within the community as allosexual is widespread. If we were to make a concerted movement to do so, I’d definitely jump on board and spread the new terminology. As it is, we tried using allosexual and zsexual together at one point and promptly got our inbox flooded with confused people. If we’re going to make the switch, it needs to be community wide.

Thanks for your thoughts on the subject! I’ve heard plenty of people tell stories about how their partners were upset by the idea of not being sexually attractive to the asexual partner, yeah. Anon, he may want you to be demi so you can be attracted to him, if not anyone else.
