I posted about this amazing calendar way back at the beginning of the year. Yet I somehow forgot to revisit it in the subsequent months, to share the unique art provided for each month by various NZ musician/artist luminaries.
I’m rectifying that here, at mid-year, with this spread for the month of July. The artist responsible for providing the art here is none other than Mr. Robert Scott of The Bats and The Clean. The rock club scene in the top panel is painstakingly detailed, and actually eerily familiar.
Aound the same time this calendar appeared, Robert had sent me a series of illustrations of the life of a touring musician, all destined to be published in the next issue of my fanzine. And while it took almost 25 years later than planned to get that issue out, I did eventually publish it, along with Robert’s drawings.
