A quiet Saturday night in at my place is normally partnered with wood fired pizza and something sweet. Who can turn down proper Italian pizza, piping hot and dripping with mozzarella?

Alas this evening, the blustery wind blew in a change and for the better! After consulting the interwebz, I settled on Lebanese from a Kilburn based restaurant; The Cedar. 

Just like your Teyta makes? Damn straight! This was the home-cooked meal, made with love by the Lebanese family you never had (unless you're Lebanese, of course). The hummus was creamy, thick and garlicky. The moist and perfectly seasoned lamb was not in the slightest bit chewy as you sometimes expect from thinly cooked lamb slices.

I didn't enjoy the Warak Enab all that much, I think it was the canned supermarket version but I could be wrong. On the other hand, the pita bread and the Manakeesh lebanese pizza, yum! So fresh and the pita, perfectly doughy. 

The portion sizes are huge but proportionate to the cost (around £35 for 2) particularly as this was a take-out meal. Value wise, this is an average rating but we got bang for our buck due to the complimentary baklava. This gesture also made up for the long wait on food even though we collected the take-out. Whilst I can't comment on atmosphere, the restaurant itself is a cosy, family affair with lovely wooden floors.
