the fire of the xhorhaus was warm and between it and the tiefling’s hands in his hair, caleb was managing to relax. just a little. not enough not to be able to read, but perhaps not read as fast as normal. the others had long gone to sleep, but neither him nor jester seemed tired enough to sleep.
his hair had grown long enough that now it was apparently practically impossible to resist braiding his hair whenever possible. caleb didn’t mind though, happy to sit still as hands worked through his hair and braided it. he had to admit, it felt nice to have the practiced fingers carefully carding through his hair and it made his shoulders drop as the tension slowly seeped away.
❛ having fun, blaubeere? ❜
Slender blue fingers move quickly, absentminded music escaping her lips as she switches in between singing and humming back and forth while she braids Caleb’s hair. They don’t usually have breaks like this, days where all they have to do is relax and do whatever they want rather than plan for their next move or do research and, frankly? Jester has no idea what to do with all that free time.
Her day started with a shopping trip, she ate pastries until her stomach couldn’t take anymore, spoke with the traveler and visited Caduceus at his tree, but that only took so much time of her day before everyone decided to sleep in early to recover and now? Now she was bored. That is why she ended up in Caleb’s room, sitting behind him and braiding his hair-- in reality, she was hoping he wouldn’t notice her sneaking in and would get scared, it would have been a good prank, a very funny one. But, well, this was nice too.
“Hm?” Jester shakes her head snapping back into reality, “Oh! Yeah! Do you need to move? I can, like, braid another part of your hair, you’ve got a lot of it. I guess I could braid your beard too, but I don’t think you’d be able to read very well if I do that.”
