I tried searching on your blog, but we all know how tumblr blog search Is. How old is Ripley? My Bastard about 8 years old and not very good at speech, but I figure he won’t be as good as Ripley or Greys on YouTube until he’s 10-20 years old.
He’s eleven (born in 2009). He started talking pretty early (his first word was “kadoo,” an attempt at “cuddle”), but it’s also common for greys to pick up speech as adults or even later in life. Even if your bird doesn’t say things to you, it’s likely he understands a lot of what you’re saying around him, and he may even talk to himself when you’re not around. Ripley tends to practice new words in secret to get them right before saying them to us, as a lot of parrots are known to do.
