A year ago I read the sequel of The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and made a review of it. Today, I finally post the art and upload the video of the review.It feels so good but sooo bad to post this a yer later hehe.

I did a design of Lee Scoresby and Hester, and a cough, very specific scene from the second book. Which I loved. And it killed me a little. I'm happy with this piece a year later is all I can say (:

The Breathing Method ll Book review and art

I did a review on The Breathing Method by Stephen King like two months ago and forgot to post it here, oops. This was the last story of Different Seasons and it hit me like a punch in the gut. You see I forgot who the author of the book was by the time I got to this story so when the horror kicked in I was not prepared. F in the channel for me bruvs ✊🏼😔

I have to say I quite liked the art I did for this review! It pays off to plan a palette an composition and stuff, who would've think :p

Directly above them the balloon swelled out in a huge curve. Above and ahead of them the Aurora was blazing, with more brilliance and grandeur than she had ever seen. It was all around, or nearly, and they were nearly part of it. Great swathes of incandescence trembled and parted like angels' wings beating; cascades of luminescent glory tumbled down invisible crags to lie in swirling pools or hang like vast waterfalls. So Lyra gasped at that, and then she looked below, and saw a sight almost more wondrous. As far as the eye could see, to the very horizon in all directions, a tumbled sea of white extended without a break. Soft peaks and vaporous chasms rose or opened here and there, but mostly it looked like a solid mass of ice. And rising through it in ones and twos and larger groups as well came small black shadows, those ragged figures of such elegance, witches on their branches of cloud-pine. I'm Doomed

Sandra Stansfield (The Breathing Method by Stephen King)

That night I had the worst dream of my entire life--I woke up from it in utter terror, and if I had been married, I suppose I would have frightened my poor wife to death. In the dream I opened the door to my consulting room and found Sandra Stansfield in there. She was wearing the brown pumps, the smart white linen dress with the brown edging, and the slightly out-of-date cloche hat. But the hat was between her breasts, because she was carrying her head in her arms. The white linen was stained and streaked with gore. Blood jetted from her neck and splattered the ceiling. And then her eyes fluttered open--those wonderful hazel eyes--and they fixed on mine. "Doomed," the speaking head told me. "Doomed. I'm doomed. There's no salvation without suffering. It's cheap magic, but it's all we have." That's when I woke up screaming.

Finally finished my four videos and drawings of the stories of Different Seasons! I'm so happy for the small achievement hehe. But particularly because this was a bit of a challenge for me, I tend to be very afraid of shadows and contrast in my art and I tried very hard to be conscious of that in this piece. Also, finding the right palette to make it look properly horror-y, that was a bit of a challenge too.

But I'm very happy about it all in all! Even if the story did break my heart a bit ngl (,:

Your Friends Keep You Down

Gordie & Chris (The Body by Stephen King)

I read the novella The Body a bit ago and some of the concepts presented in the short story made me go feral ngl. Like the idea that some things can't be said out loud or the feeling/meaning of them gets destroyed, like- Excuse me what????? I fricking love that. And I do think there's some truth to it. Good god I'm destroyed.
