my fav teen wolf characters. hum, i have so many favs. for like bajallion reasons. 

let's try to break it down

scott, he has this inate sweetness that has me but also he's a bit of a butt. like, he'll have these jokes, and like they're pretty witty just that usually stiles will steal the jokes department so scott's wit and humor are kinda of overshadowed but omg scott has these one liners where i am laughing at what a dickhead he is and like mama mccall is the only one to call him out on it. but when he gets caught, he like immediately is like, yeah, my bad. which tbh, not many characters in tv do. 

derek, i kinda of want to wrap him in a blanket and protect him but also like want to throw context clues at him because he's unnecessarily vague 98% of the time. which i read as him being 100% of a dork with bad people skills. 

erica, she owns this determination to overcome obstacles even when she knows the odds. she's been on the losing side and yet, this determination to continue is just so amazing to see in female characters on tv yet 90% of it was gage's acting because erica had next to no screen time

allison, like her inferiority complex with art, school, poetry, photography, etc got to me. she's talented but like her family is emotionally abusive. like nothing is even good enough. allison is so quick to adapt because everything is always changing and she's always supposed to be perfect and i relate so hard and like she flourishes with scott because he's just so accepting of her. like to him, allison hung the moon. and like allison has never interacted with someone who just point blank says she's awesome. 

boyd, man i would have loved to see more but this sensitive lonely boy who wants friends but also, is discerning. like he knows that people are out there to use him. so like he doesn't let stiles take advantage of him with the ice rink but like leaps at the chance to be with derek's pack, like an instant bond of friends. :3

i feel like some things are problematic but just the focus is in weird places like you said. I think there are nice things about it that dont get noticed or are treated as nothing important (like Stiles & ADHD)

Yeah, exactly..

I mean, I get that the issue with the POC and females IS an issue, but come on. First of all, it's a bit dramatical to say that Jeff only or mostly kills off POC or women.. Heather was white, Mr. Harris and the owner of the dog were white - the two latter even MALE white people. Kate Argent was white. Most of the dozen policemen who died in season 2 were male white people. Matt was a male white character who died. Ennis was male, white (wasn't he?) Yes, some women die, but also enough MALE WHITE characters die, wtf.

And nobody seems to see that one can only kill off POC or females if one actually has them on the show. Teen Wolf has a nice diversity, but all people care about is the order in which they die in. Sometimes things only become an issue once people complain about it for no apparent reason. I am not defending everything Jeff Davis does, and personally I think he mostly does a kind of sucky job lately, but it's just not normal to take EVERYTHING apart and complain about all the shitty details that only look shitty because you got dirt on your glasses.

Yeah, the show has its weird moments and certainly doesn't handle everything perfectly, but it also has a lot of amazing things that not many other shows have. Davis created a world in which racism isn't a problem at all, nobody even talks about it. Being gay isn't an issue, it's completely accepted. He thematized Stiles ADHD, as you mentioned - not very much, but he does. And maybe not perfectly, but a) it's very different for everyone and b) it's not that easy to fabricate these things on a small TV show like Teen Wolf.

Lydia and Stiles grew from ignoring vs massive crush to being actual friends who respect each other. Scott grew up to be an amazing person; relationships changed in a realistic way (some of them; like Scallison, imo) without getting boring.. I think it's alright to complain about things you don't like. Everyone does that, but does everyone really have to go LOOKING for things to complain about, instead of enjoying the nice things for once?
