Ever since the day they had met Melinda had felt something between them. At first she had dismissed it as a childish crush. Her best friend, Natasha, had told her that love was for children, and as she grew older and closer to Phil - she attempted to keep that as her motto. Tried to keep the feelings that were growing up with her, down, supressed. It was for the best. SHIELD agents weren't allowed relationships with each other. Especially when they worked in such close proximity. She'd tried to loose herself in another relationship. Even marrying him, but she'd lost him in Bahrain, and of course, Phil was there to comfort her. He was always there. That was the problem. After the events, she tried to burry everything, getting a desk job - trying to tear herself away from all the muddled feelings that she was bottling up inside. Then Phil had died. And she thought she'd lost him - forever. But she got a second chance. One that she thought she'd blown after recent events. But he still wanted her there. And if not now, when their world was crumbling around them, then when would she tell him how she truly felt? "Phil..." she spoke softly, entering his room. "Can we talk?"
